They will lead projects from preconstruction through final completion. They are directly responsible for safety and quality, client relations, project budget, schedule and job controls, vendor management, submittals and procedures.\nSummary:\nPlans, directs, and coordinates construction activities for electrical industrial projects.\nProject types range from Steel/Manufacturing, Power, Data Centers, and various MEP related projects across a wide variety of industries and clients.\nTypical workload volume is overseeing one large project or a couple/several smaller projects.\nEnsures that project goals are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.\nManages Project Engineers, General Foreman, and Foremen who supervise construction employees; charged with overall direction, coordination and evaluation of team.\n Duties and Responsibilities:\nSet a Safety 24/7 culture for your crews.\nInitiate and maintain liaison with prime client to facilitate construction activities.\nLead construction projects from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, and coordination. Help create and maintain project schedule to meet milestones and budgets.\nEnsure Team Members have the appropriate resources (equipment, material, information etc.)\nProvide expertise and knowledge to Team Members as needed. Help plan difficult construction. Assist with start-up and closeout problems.\nWork with Project Manager and Director on all personnel-related issues and actions in accordance with company policies and government laws.\nIdentify and minimize obstacles throughout the construction process.\nEstablish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.\nConfers with project staff to outline work plan, assign duties/responsibilities and authority.\nReviews project proposal or plan to determine the timeframe, funding limitations, project procedures, staffing requirements, and available resources to various phases of project.\nReviews status reports from project personnel and modifies schedules/plans as needed.\nConfers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.\nCoordinates project activities with activities of subcontractors.\nUnderstands and is able to analyze and execute CPM-based project schedules.\nRepresent company in Owner progress meetings.\nLead project team in daily field coordination meeting, weekly block schedule meeting and monthly safety kickoff meeting.\nOther tasks and duties as assigned.\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nSupervisory responsibilities, in accordance with policies and applicable laws, include interviewing/hiring; training; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding/disciplining; addressing complaints/resolving problems.\nEducation and Experience:\n10 years field experience with a background as a skilled tradesperson OR bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or construction management plus 7 years field experience.\n4-year engineering or construction management degree or equivalent technical experience progressing through the ranks as a Journeyman to Foreman to a Superintendent.\nPrior experience working on union projects, strongly preferred.\nSkills and Abilities:\nExcellent people and business skills; strong customer service orientation, high energy level.\nField focused, execution driven with safety as a core value.\nAdvanced knowledge of the construction industry.\nDemonstrated ability to think strategically and plan over a 1-3-year time span.\nExcellent communication skills (both verbal and written).\nMust be able to understand and interpret safety laws, company policies/standards, and labor collective bargaining agreements.\nMust have a thorough understanding of basic and complex construction management processes and building techniques.\nMust be able to lead and work as part of a team.\nMust have prior direct profit and loss responsibility and accountability.\nExcellent organizational leadership, and analytical skills.\nAbility to organize and manage multiple priorities.\nProblem analysis and problem resolution; sound judgment.\nAdvanced computer skills.\nAbility to establish and maintain effective relationships with a wide cross section of individuals.\nUnderstand and interpret safety laws and company policies/standards.\nApply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.\nThorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities vital.\nDemonstrated ability to manage a team of varied self-performing trade disciplines.\n BENEFITS:\nMcGraw Kokosing offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, company paid life, and disability insurance.
