With over $2.8 billion in annual sales and a commitment to its workforce, Kokosing is the winning team.\nJob Description:\nWe have a need for two Equipment Operators for our Blue Plains wastewater treatment plant project in Washington, DC. At least 3 years of experience with Brokk concrete demo machine required. Preferred experience with excavator (w/ hammer), mini excavator, skid steers, and loaders.\n*Work hours: 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (no OT).\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nPerforms concrete demolition.\nChecks all fluids before starting engine.\nReceives written or oral instructions from supervisor.\nPerforms routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.\nObserves and understands markings on ground, hand signals, or grade stakes.\nOperates equipment in safe and responsible manner.\nWhen Operator work is not available, works with and assists crews by performing other duties as requested.\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE\nPrior experience in position required. Experience must be commensurate with requirements of Project - will vary depending on project. Minimum five years related experience and/or training.\nCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS\nCertified or approved by Safety Department or Competent person.\nMust pass practical test.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. When operating equipment, the Operator must be able to climb in and out of the piece of equipment safely. To climb onto the equipment the Operator uses both hands to grab hold of cab mounted hand grips and raises one foot up to 30 inches (from the ground) onto a step. Uses arm and leg power to lift his/her body up to the tread of the step. This process is repeated until the Operator reaches the cab. The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The operation of the equipment requires the use of both hands and arms for steering and moving levers and legs to operate foot controls and pedals. These activities are repeated throughout the work day. When there is no operator work required, the employee may assist the crew and perform other duties with physical demands. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Construction sites may be in isolated or in high traffic areas around other equipment and workers.\nBENEFITS\nKokosing offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, life, and disability insurance, paid time off and a 401K plan.\nExpected base pay range for this positions is: $27.00/hr - $40.00/hr\nThis compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Kokosing at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case.
