As the senior technical presence on site, you'll support the engineering team, drive operational excellence, and ensure our facilities operate safely, efficiently and reliably.\nReporting to the Operations & Customer Care Manager and working closely with the Facility Manager, you'll provide day-to-day technical leadership across our Dutch sites.\nWhile this role provides technical leadership, it does not include direct people management responsibilities.\nWhat You'll Do\nCoach and Develop the Engineering Team\nCoach engineers through hands-on learning and technical guidance\nShare best practices and build team capability\nDevelop practical training materials and technical documentation\nSupport engineers in creating and maintaining operating procedures\nFoster a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence\nLead Technical Operations\nSupport planned and reactive maintenance\nProvide senior technical guidance during daily operations\nAct as the technical point of contact for engineers, customers and contractors\nCoordinate and prioritise operational activities across multiple sites\nEnsure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards\nDrive Operational Excellence\nCreate, review and maintain SOPs, EOPs and MOPs\nStandardise operational procedures across sites\nPromote procedural discipline and continuous improvement\nMaintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation\nCoordinate Contractors\nCoordinate contractor access and external works\nReview work scopes and supervise activities where required\nEnsure permits, authorisations and documentation are complete\nVerify work quality and close completed activities\nPromote Safety and Compliance\nReview RAMS and prepare risk assessments where required\nSupport Permit-to-Work and isolation processes\nEnsure safe systems of work are followed\nPromote a proactive safety culture\nTravel & On-Call\nRegular travel between Meppel, Dronten and Apeldoorn is required, with occasional support at our Amsterdam site.\nYou'll also participate in a shared on-call rotation and receive the applicable compensation in line with company policy.\nThe Perfect Profile Match\nEssential\nDegree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering (MEP)\nSignificant experience in data centers or other critical facilities\nProven ability to coach and mentor engineers\nStrong knowledge of:UPS\nGenerators\nATS/STS\nPDUs\nLow-voltage electrical distribution\nCooling systems (CRAC, CRAH, chillers, free cooling)\nFire detection and suppression systems\nBMS and DCIM platforms\n\nExperience coordinating technical operations across multiple sites\nExperience writing and applying SOPs, EOPs and MOPs\nExperience reviewing RAMS and conducting risk assessments\nExperience managing contractors\nFull Category B driving licence\nFluent Dutch and English\nNice to Have\nVCA VOL\nNEN 3140\nNEN 3840\nExperience creating technical training programmes\nPermit-to-Work and LOTO authority\nKnowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 27001\nBHV / First Aid certification\nWho You Are\nPassionate about coaching and developing others\nHands-on and comfortable working in operational environments\nCalm and structured under pressure\nSafety-focused\nOrganised, pragmatic and solution-oriented\nCollaborative and trusted by colleagues\nCommitted to continuous improvement\nWhy Join Kolo?\nJoin a fast-growing international data center platform where you'll help shape engineering standards, develop technical teams and support critical infrastructure across Northern Europe.
