This role could be your perfect fit.\nAbout the Role\nKolomolo is looking for an experienced Data Platform Product Manager to take ownership of product management for a complex data platform environment.\nThis is a hands-on Product Manager role positioned at the intersection of technology, platform engineering, and business needs. You will work closely with the Head of Platform, Technical Leads, engineering teams, and stakeholders to ensure the platform team is focused on the right priorities, at the right time, with clear outcomes and effective delivery.\nYou will not be expected to make architecture decisions yourself. Instead, your responsibility will be to create clarity around what needs to be delivered, why it matters, how it should be prioritised, and whether the expected outcomes are being achieved.\n What You’ll Be Doing\nOwn and prioritise the platform backlog at Feature level, ensuring scope and priorities are clear.\n\nShape incoming demand into well-defined Features with clear acceptance criteria.\n\nWork closely with stakeholders to understand business and technical needs and translate them into actionable platform priorities.\n\nManage capacity across different workstreams and help maintain a healthy, transparent delivery flow.\n\nIdentify delivery bottlenecks, ageing work, dependencies, and capacity risks early.\n\nServe as a key communication point between the platform team and its stakeholders.\n\nTranslate technical topics into clear, outcome-oriented communication for non-technical stakeholders.\n\nRun structured feedback loops to understand stakeholder needs, pain points, and emerging requirements.\n\nCoordinate dependencies, delivery risks, and release readiness across platform work.\n\nEnsure changes, releases, and handovers are properly aligned and communicated.\n\nSupport strong service adoption and documentation standards, ensuring platform services are understandable and easy to consume.\n\nWork with the Head of Platform and Technical Leads on platform vision, roadmap, service catalogue, and strategic direction.\n\nCollaborate with engineering teams during planning and refinement to ensure priorities and outcomes are understood.\n\n What We Are Looking For\nWe’re looking for someone who combines strong Product Management fundamentals with enough technical understanding to operate confidently in a platform engineering environment.\nYou should bring:\nExperience as a Product Manager, Technical Product Manager, Platform Product Manager, or in a similar role.\n\nExperience working with data platforms, cloud platforms, infrastructure, developer platforms, or technically complex products/services.\n\nStrong backlog management and prioritisation skills.\n\nExperience managing multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.\n\nAbility to translate technical complexity into clear business and product language.\n\nGood understanding of modern software/platform delivery processes.\n\nExperience working closely with engineers, architects, Technical Leads, or platform teams.\n\nStrong understanding of dependencies, delivery risks, capacity planning, and release coordination.\n\nA structured and disciplined approach to product management.\n\nExcellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.\n\nProfessional working proficiency in English.\n\nYou’ll be successful in this role if you\nThink ahead rather than simply managing tickets. You understand emerging needs, dependencies, delivery risks, and stakeholder expectations before they become problems.\nYou are comfortable challenging priorities and protecting the team from unstructured demand or scope creep, while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.\nYou also understand the boundary between product and engineering: you own the priorities, requirements, outcomes, and stakeholder alignment, while technical and architectural decisions remain with the appropriate engineering and technical leadership.\nWhat this role is not\nThis is not a Project Manager or Scrum Master position focused primarily on timelines and ceremonies.\nIt is also not an architecture role.
