The role requires strong collaboration across Shared Services, HR, Treasury, Tax, Procurement, Business Controllers, FP&A, and Operations teams to ensure operational accounting activities are executed accurately, controlled effectively, and supported by strong reconciliations and documentation.\nThis is an ideal role for a professional seeking to deepen expertise in Finance Operations and Operational Accounting within a complex multinational environment, while building toward future Operational Controllership responsibilities.\nKey Responsibilities\nSub-Ledger Ecosystem Ownership\nIndependently manage and oversee operational accounting activities across Treasury, Payroll, Fixed Assets, and other assigned subledger areas\nEnsure operational subledgers reconcile accurately and completely to the General Ledger\nMaintain strong ownership of reconciliation quality, aging management, and operational accounting accuracy across assigned processes\nTreasury, Payroll & Fixed Asset Accounting\nSupport and oversee accounting activities related to:Treasury and cash operations\nPayroll and compensation accounting\nFixed assets and capital accounting\n\nEnsure journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules are completed accurately and timely\nPartner with operational stakeholders to investigate discrepancies and improve accounting execution and process reliability\nP2P & O2C Operational Oversight\nProvide operational accounting oversight across Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash workflows\nMonitor GR/IR accounts, unapplied cash, aging AP/AR balances, and clearing accounts to identify operational accounting risks and reconciliation issues\nPartner with Shared Services and operational teams to investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and process breakdowns\nIntercompany Governance\nSupport and coordinate intercompany accounting, reconciliations, settlements, and reporting activities\nLead resolution of intercompany imbalances by coordinating with domestic and international counterparts\nEnsure operational intercompany processes support timely and accurate reporting and eliminations\nTax & Compliance Support\nReview and manage tax-related balance sheet accounts\nSupport Tax teams with reconciliations, reporting support, account analysis, and audit inquiries\nEnsure operational accounting activities comply with company accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable accounting standards\nOperational Controls & Continuous Improvement\nRegularly evaluate the effectiveness of controls across operational accounting processes and subledgers\nIdentify operational risks, reconciliation weaknesses, process inefficiencies, and control gaps\nDrive process improvements, automation opportunities, and standardization initiatives to improve accounting accuracy and reduce manual effort\nSupport finance transformation and systems enhancement initiatives across Finance Operations\nQualifications & Experience\nExperience\n5+ years of progressive operational accounting experience within a large corporate or multinational environment\nStrong experience supporting high-volume accounting processes and subledger accounting activities\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance\nCPA or CPA-track preferred\nTechnical Skills\nStrong understanding of:Operational accounting processes\nSubledger-to-General Ledger integration\nBalance sheet reconciliations and controls\nIFRS\n\nAdvanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities\nSAP or similar ERP experience required\nExperience with Blackline, Power BI, Alteryx, or Power Automate is a plus\nProfessional Capabilities\nStrong ownership mindset and accountability\nExceptional attention to detail and reconciliation accuracy\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities\nAbility to independently identify issues, investigate root causes, and drive resolution\nEffective cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a fast-paced environment\nContinuous improvement mindset with focus on operational excellence and automation\nAbout KONE\nAt KONE, we foster an innovative and collaborative culture, valuing each individual's contribution.
