This is what makes Konecranes a unique place to work.\nJob Description\nJob Description\nPort Services at Konecranes focuses on the service, maintenance and repair of lifting equipment and automation solutions within ports, harbours and terminals, equipment includes mobile harbour cranes, straddle carriers and container handling equipment.\nWe are recruiting a Multi-Skilled Field Service Engineer, (Port Cranes) to carry out the maintenance and repair of this equipment. Our customers are ports and terminals around the UK coast, so travel is a key part of the role.\nWe are looking for candidates who are ideally based in northern England, preferably in Newcastle, Gateshead or Teesside.\nFrom time to time, this role can also offer the opportunity to work overseas, but this is not a mandatory requirement.\nKey Tasks and Responsibilities:\nElectrical and mechanical installation, commissioning, inspection, and testing including service and repair of Port Solutions products, such as harbour cranes and straddle carriers\nTroubleshooting equipment malfunctions, in electrical and mechanical equipment, drive technologies and PLCs in an industrial environment\nConsulting with customers on repair and safety related issues\nAccurate and descriptive problem reporting\nCompletion of inspection and examination documentation as appropriate\nQualifications\nWhat we are looking for in you:\nTime-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 / HNC in electrical or mechanical engineering, with practical competence in both\nWorking knowledge of hydraulics\nExperience of Siemens S7 desirable\nGood attention to detail\nOrganised and self-motivated\nComputer proficient including basic networking and component diagnostics\nFamiliar with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) and LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998)\nFull UK driving licence\nAbility to work at height\nAble to spend periods of time away from home (up to two weeks at a time)\nAdditional Information\nWe offer:\nCompetitive salary\nPaid overtime\nPaid travel time\nContributory pension scheme, life assurance and income protection insurance\n25 days annual leave + bank holidays\nCompany vehicle, fuel card, workwear, tools, phone\nBuy/sell holidays\nEmployee share save scheme\nEmployee Assistance Programme\nRetail, leisure and travel discounts \n Konecranes moves what matters.
