Your role is to\nhelp teams move beyond rules-based automation by identifying patterns in data,\ndetecting anomalous or higher-risk cases, and building models that help officers\nprioritise their attention.\nThis is an applied role. You should be comfortable moving from exploratory analysis and\nmodelling to building data pipelines and putting models into production.\nKey Responsibilities⚠ REQUIRED\n• Analyse large operational datasets to identify patterns, anomalies, outliers and\nrisk indicators.\n• Develop approaches for anomaly detection, clustering, segmentation and risk\nscoring.\n• Build supervised machine-learning models where historical outcomes or\nlabelled cases are available.\n• Perform feature engineering using structured and unstructured data.\n• Design evaluation approaches to assess model performance, including\nprecision, recall, false positives and false negatives.\n• Work with domain experts to determine how analytical outputs should be\nincorporated into operational workflows.\n• Build and maintain data-processing and feature pipelines to support modelling\nat scale.\n• Develop production-ready model or scoring pipelines and integrate them with\napplications built by the forward-deployed teams.\n• Monitor model performance, data quality and data drift after deployment.\n• Conduct exploratory analysis to identify new opportunities for workflow redesign\nand automation.\n• Support the use of LLMs and other AI techniques alongside traditional statistical\nand machine-learning approaches where appropriate.\n• Develop reusable analytical approaches and components that can be applied\nacross multiple agency engagements.\nRequirements & Qualifications\nA. Educational Qualification & Experience\nEducation: Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning,\nData Analytics or Information Systems preferred.\nExperience:\n• Experience working with large, messy operational or transactional datasets.\n• Experience in applied data science, including statistics, feature engineering,\nmachine learning and model evaluation.\n• Experience with techniques such as anomaly detection, classification,\nclustering or risk modelling.\n• Experience building data pipelines and taking models beyond experimentation\ninto production environments.\nB. Technical & Professional Competencies\nEssential (Must-Have)\n• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.\n• Able to translate a business or operational problem into an analytical problem\nand determine the appropriate modelling approach.\n• Familiarity with software engineering practices including Git, automated testing\nand APIs.\n• Comfortable assessing model trade-offs and explaining them clearly to nontechnical stakeholders.\nPreferred (Advantageous)\n• Familiarity with containers, CI/CD or other DevOps / ModelOps practices would\nbe advantageous.\nC.
