These include, but are not limited to, Federal and state income tax returns, state property tax returns, and state sales and use tax returns. To succeed in this role, the Tax Department intern will be required to work closely and efficiently with other members of the Tax Department. The Tax Department intern will also be required to interact and communicate effectively with members of Koppers’ Finance Department and other departments to gather data and incorporate that data into certain tax calculations.\nCertain tasks that the Tax Department intern will perform include, but are not limited to the following:\nPreparing certain tax return forms within tax return compliance software\nPreparing certain tax return supporting calculations· \nCalculating certain book-to-tax adjustments\nResponding to tax authority notices via phone or by submitting written responses\nGathering and summarizing state apportionment data\nQualifications\nEducation/Experience:\nProgression towards bachelor’s degree with a major or concentration in accounting\nKnowledge of accounting principles and practices\nKnowledge of tax and finance principles\nKnowledge of financial reporting\nBasic computer skills \nSkills:\nAttention to detail and accuracy\nPlanning and organizing\nScheduling and monitoring\nCommunication skills\nProblem analysis and problem-solving skills\nInitiative\nTeamwork\nConfidentiality\nKoppers Inc. and its subsidiaries are equal opportunity employers.
