You'll install, maintain and commission the networks that keep communities, emergency services and businesses connected across the region and beyond.\nThis is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. One day you could be fault finding on a remote transmission site, the next commissioning new infrastructure or delivering upgrades for customers. You'll combine technical expertise with practical problem solving to deliver high-quality outcomes safely, on time and to specification, while building trusted relationships with the customers who rely on us.\n\nKo tō mahi - What you will do\nReporting to the Field Team Lead, you'll be part of our Field Operations team delivering installation, maintenance and commissioning services across Kordia's broadcast and telecommunications networks. You'll enjoy the autonomy of managing your work while collaborating with experienced engineers to solve complex technical challenges and deliver exceptional service.\nWhat you'll be responsible for\nInstalling, commissioning, maintaining and repairing broadcast and telecommunications equipment\nTesting, diagnosing and resolving faults across RF, fibre, structured cabling and related systems\nDelivering infrastructure installations that meet technical specifications, quality standards and project deadlines\nReading and interpreting engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and technical documentation\nSupporting project planning through cost estimates and equipment recommendations\nBuilding trusted customer relationships through proactive communication and professional service\nMaintaining the highest standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance\nParticipating in the on-call roster supporting critical communications infrastructure\nNā tōu rourou - What you will bring\nThree or more years' experience in field engineering within telecommunications, broadcasting or a related technical industry, or an equivalent qualification\nExperience working with RF, fibre, data and ICT technologies\nProven experience installing and commissioning telecommunications or broadcast systems\nStrong fault finding and problem-solving skills\nConfidence interpreting technical drawings and wiring diagrams\nA commitment to safe working practices and quality workmanship\nExcellent communication skills and a customer focused approach\nA New Zealand Certificate (Level 4) or higher in Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications or Broadcast Engineering, or equivalent industry experience\nA full, clean New Zealand driver's licence\nBe self-motivated and enjoy working autonomously \nThe ability to work at heights, in confined spaces and participate in an on-call roster.\nHaving fibre, RF, structured cabling or EWP certifications will be an advantage.\nNōu te rourou - Why join us?\nThis is an opportunity to work on infrastructure that keeps New Zealand connected while enjoying the lifestyle the West Coast is famous for.
