You will develop production services in Go (Golang) on AWS and help shape a platform that is central to the team's future work.\nOur environment includes Amazon EKS, DynamoDB, GitLab CI/CD, and Datadog. The team also owns established SIM lifecycle services written in Java and Scala. You will help keep these services reliable and make targeted improvements when needed, but our primary need is a strong Go backend engineer.\nThis is a hands-on role for an engineer who can take work from an initial problem through design and delivery to running it in production. Success means delivering useful, well-scoped solutions at a predictable pace, communicating decisions clearly, and helping the team improve its engineering practices.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nBuild, test, deploy, and operate scalable Go services for a remote SIM provisioning platform based on SGP.32.\nOwn complex features from requirement clarification and technical design through rollout and production support.\nDesign clear APIs, integrations, and event-driven workflows, choosing pragmatic solutions that address current needs while allowing the platform to evolve.\nSupport existing Java and Scala SIM lifecycle services and make targeted improvements when required.\nInvestigate production issues and improve reliability, performance, security, and observability.\nMaintain effective automated tests and contribute to architecture, design, and code reviews.\nWork closely with product, platform, operations, and other engineering teams, communicating decisions, trade-offs, risks, and progress clearly.\nSupport colleagues through constructive feedback, documentation, pairing, and technical guidance.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. A master's degree is preferred.\nAt least 5 years of professional software development experience, including substantial recent experience building production backend systems in Go.\nExperience designing and operating backend APIs, distributed services, and service-oriented or event-driven systems.\nPractical experience with AWS, containerized services, Kubernetes, and cloud-based production environments.\nSound database fundamentals, including SQL, data modelling, and experience working with NoSQL data stores such as key-value or document databases.\nExperience with automated testing, Git-based development, CI/CD, and reliable production delivery.\nExperience troubleshooting production systems and using logs, metrics, traces, and alerts to understand their behaviour. Familiarity with Datadog or a comparable platform is valuable.\nA record of independently delivering well-scoped solutions, incorporating feedback, and communicating technical decisions clearly.\nEffective and responsible use of AI-assisted development tools, including careful review of generated output for correctness, security, maintainability, and suitability for the problem.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nExperience working with existing services written in Java or Scala.\nHands-on experience with Amazon EKS, DynamoDB, GitLab CI/CD, or Datadog.\nExperience with Kafka or another messaging or streaming platform.\nExperience in IoT, telecommunications, eSIM, or remote SIM provisioning.
