Friday, average of 45 hours per week\nREPORTING RELATIONSHIPS\nReports to: Automation Engineer Supervisor\nSupervise: N/A\nPURPOSE OF THE JOB\nThis position allows an internship to provide an opportunity to gain additional knowledge and skills in this area of interest at RELCO, build professional relationships, and develop an understanding of the manufacturing process.\nSUMMARY OF KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES\nAccountable to advise on all aspects related to the quoting and/or sales order to communicate with customer.\nAccountable to read and interpret electrical drawings.\nAccountable to carry out project duties that minimizes stress for onsite commissioning.\nAccountable to follow safety standards.\nAuthority to alter and/or halt the assigned project duties with just cause and according to company policy.\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES\nResponsibilities\nDuties\nStandards of Performance\nQuotes\nAdvise sales needed/missing information to provide an accurate quote.\nInteract with customer/vendor to gather information required to do an accurate quote.\nAdvise sales on constraints from customer that are unrealistic, costly, risky, etc.\nRequest advice from others in department on issues outside of expertise.\nProvide accurate numbers & disclaimers to customers for quotes.\nQuality of interacting with coworkers & customers during the quoting process.\nAccuracy of information gathered to provide a correct quote.\nElectrical Drawings\nReview PID drawings & identify devices needing controls.\nResearch panel components connections & draw them on the electrical drawing.\nAppropriately mark electrical drawing for revisions & stages with proper approvals.\nOrder panel component parts & account for the lead time required.\nQuality of following RELCO’s documented processes for errors/revisions.\nAccuracy of ordered parts and providing feedback.\nPanel Building\nReview parts list and inventory them in an organized fashion for assigned projects.\nContact appropriate people about missing items.\nRead the electrical drawings & build panels to specifications on drawing.\nGive feedback on electrical drawing errors.\nAccuracy of information parts ordered for panel.\nAccuracy of building panel to the electrical drawing specs.\nAutomation Programming\nIdentify device control boundaries of sequencers instances & pin charts.\nProduce pin charts & review with process engineer.\nConform code structure that applies for the project.\nDocument code.\nFollow directions from a superior, or an assigned superior, for a project.\nSet-up & recipe screens to organize in a logical fashion based on production mode, chronological write order, and flow paths.\nQuality of identifying device control boundaries.\nQuality of code used and documented.\nPanel Building & Programming Testing\nProgram networks that support IO in panel(s).\nDouble check wire labels, solenoid labels, terminal labels, etc. for correctness.\nCheck every IO point for communication to PLC code for assigned projects.\nQuality of panels built and PLC coding\nPre-Commissioning & Commissioning\nSet-up and verify field instruments, VFD, PLC IO, and HMI clients.\nInforming supervisor of concerns or delays with commission of the automation system while onsite.\nWatch people and control system interaction and detect unforeseen bad events that can be avoided by changing the code with approval from superior.\nOn the fly code changes with low risk of bringing system down.\nAssist in training operators and answer questions.\nQuality of set ups & informing others of concerns that could cause delays.\nInternal Software Development\nTake a software/idea & formulate layout for the code.\nDevelop and document the code.\nTest and maintain internal software for the end users.\nQuality of the idea, the layout, and the code used for the project.\nSafety Standards\nFollow all safety procedures when operating machinery.\nKeep work area clean & organized so not to present a safety hazard.\nQuality of safety procedures followed.\nOther Duties\nAssist with all special projects assigned by the manager/supervisor\nAll other duties as assigned.\n** Note** The job description above is only a characterization of the duties and not a full list.
