Role Overview

Hands-on Treasury and FP&A Manager who actively manages cash, executes transactions, optimizes yields, builds models, and drives processes. Own treasury operations and FP&A with a clear mandate to maximize interest income on company balances while ensuring strong liquidity, risk management, and financial visibility to support rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities

Treasury

• Manage daily multi-currency cash positioning, liquidity, and working capital across collections, payouts, card settlements, and FX flows.
• Maximize interest earnings and yield on idle balances through proactive investment of surplus funds and negotiation of competitive rates with financial institutions.
• Execute and monitor FX hedging and exposure (working with Trade Desk); manage counterparty relationships and settlement risk.
• Handle day-to-day banking operations, account management, payment instructions, and reconciliation (with support from Finance Ops and IT).
• Build and improve treasury processes, controls, forecasting models, and tools.
• Strengthen banking relationships focused on better pricing, higher yields, and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with treasury, payment, and FX regulations; support audits and controls.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

• Own budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-range planning - build and maintain the models yourself.
• Develop financial models covering revenue (volumes, FX spreads, card interchange, fees), costs, unit economics, cash flow, and interest income.
• Deliver timely management reporting, variance analysis, and insights to leadership.
• Partner with product, operations, and commercial teams on new markets, pricing, launches, and partnerships.
• Track and improve key metrics (take rates, volume growth, liquidity, P&L, settlement risk, interest yield).
• Support fundraising, investor reporting, and board materials.

Cross-functional Ownership

• Collaborate with operations, compliance, product, and IT on payment flows, settlement cycles, and risk controls.
• Design and refine finance processes and systems as the company scales.
• Operate with high ownership and urgency in a fast-paced startup environment.

Requirements

• 6+ years in treasury and/or FP&A, ideally in fintech, payments, banking, or high-growth startups.
• Proven hands-on experience managing multi-currency cash, executing transactions, and optimizing interest income/yield.
• Strong practical experience in FX risk management, cross-border payments, and banking operations.
• Ability to build financial models, forecasts, and reports from scratch.
• Solid understanding of payment ecosystems (collections, payouts, card schemes, settlement) and FX markets.
• Direct experience with banks, payment processors, and FX providers, including rate negotiations.
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets; experience with ERP, treasury tools, or BI preferred.
• Detail-oriented, execution-focused, comfortable with ambiguity, and willing to get hands dirty daily.
• Strong communication skills across finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; CFA/CPA preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in payments, remittance, or FX companies.
• Track record of increasing interest income or optimizing cash yields.
• Familiarity with payments, money transmission, and FX regulations.
• Experience implementing treasury systems and cash forecasting tools.
• Exposure to payment and credit card economics or related P&Ls.
