Your work will underpin our core products and commercial decisions by ensuring that vessel-level data is accurate, consistent and comprehensive.\nCombining hands-on data curation with independent analysis, you will research and validate information from multiple sources, identify data gaps and anomalies, and develop processes to improve data quality. You will take ownership of specific vessel data domains while helping automate recurring tasks and strengthen the reliability of our data pipelines.\nWorking closely with the Vessel Data Manager, Market Analysts, Product and Engineering teams, you will contribute to continuous improvements in our vessel data capabilities and ensure that our datasets meet the needs of internal teams and customers.\nResponsibilities\nOwn the end-to-end quality of assigned vessel particulars datasets, including specifications, ownership, classification and technical attributes.\nResearch and validate vessel data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy, consistency and completeness.\nAnalyse datasets to identify data gaps and anomalies, developing and running validation checks to improve data quality and coverage.\nCreate and maintain SQL- and Python-based workflows to automate recurring data collection, cleansing and enrichment tasks.\nDevelop dashboards and reports to monitor vessel data quality, providing Market Analysts with relevant vessel-level insights.\nSupport the integration of new vessel data sources, including scoping, testing and validating incoming data feeds.\nInvestigate and resolve data quality issues raised by internal teams or customers, identifying root causes and implementing fixes.\nDocument data logic, business rules and definitions to ensure consistency and adherence to vessel particulars data standards.\nCollaborate with Product and Engineering teams to translate data quality findings into platform and pipeline improvements.\nWork proactively with the Vessel Data Manager, taking ownership of issues independently, communicating clearly and recommending solutions.\nSkills and Experience\n2-4 years of experience in a data analyst, data quality or data operations role.\nExperience working with SQL for data querying, cleansing and analysis.\nDemonstrable knowledge of vessel data and maritime shipping concepts.\nExperience working with large, real-world datasets, particularly vessel particulars.\nExperience in the maritime industry.\nStrong analytical skills, with a structured and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.\nExperience with data validation, monitoring and quality-improvement techniques.\nStrong ownership and accountability, with the ability to work independently and prioritise effectively.\nClear communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nNice to have\nFamiliarity with data visualisation tools and dashboarding.\nPractical experience with ETL processes and/or web scraping for data collection.\nExperience using Python for data analysis and automation.\nExperience working with APIs for data ingestion and validation.\nExperience building or maintaining data pipelines.\nFamiliarity with maritime data
