Join us to leverage cutting-edge innovation for impactful results and experience unparalleled support on your journey to success.\nYour future position:\nKpler’s Dry Bulk business is expanding, and we are looking for a Market Data Analyst - Dry Bulk to take ownership of data quality and operational processes across assigned geographical regions and product groups.\nWhile the position is internally known as Market Data Analyst - Metals & Minerals, its scope extends across a broader range of dry bulk commodities, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, solid fuels, and industrial minerals.\nThis is a role for someone who wants to sit close to how global commodity markets actually move. You will combine strong SQL and Python skills with a curiosity about the real-world events shaping those movements - from shifting trade flows and supply chain disruptions to changes in industrial demand, policy, and pricing dynamics.\nYou won’t just be processing data. You will play a key role in turning complex, high-volume datasets into reliable market intelligence used by clients to understand what is happening in global physical markets. Your work will directly influence how accurately we reflect real-world commodity flows.\nYour mission is to:\nTake charge of specific regions and product groups, ensuring the highest standard of data quality by reviewing internal constraints, validating automated outputs, and ingesting data from diverse external sources.\n\nIdentify and implement technology and process improvements - including contributions to SQL queries, Python scripts, and pipeline tooling - to increase the efficiency and accuracy of our seaborne flow data.\n\nTrack news, trade flows, and industry developments across metals and minerals markets. Extract meaningful patterns and ensure they are well reflected in our data product.\n\nLead responses to ad-hoc client requests (email, video call, in-person) with rapid, well-structured analysis. Partner with Sales and Customer Success teams to address client data needs and feed insights back into internal systems.\n\nEngage proactively with the broader data architecture; understand how upstream data sources, internal systems, and client-facing solutions interact, and propose improvements that scale across the team.\n\nAct as a knowledgeable and self-directed team member capable of picking up complex technical tasks independently and driving them to completion with minimal supervision.\n\nYou could be a match if you are or have:\nExperience working with data products and complex datasets. You understand how data is collected, processed, validated, and delivered to end users. You can investigate data inconsistencies, identify root causes, and contribute to improving data quality, reliability, and the overall user experience.\nStrong proficiency in SQL and Python (PostgreSQL, MSSQL, or similar) is a core requirement. You use both to query databases, analyse data, and automate workflows, building and maintaining scripts to remove manual processes and improve efficiency. Strong Excel skills are required for analysis and commercial reporting.\n\nA genuine interest in physical commodity markets. You are curious about how global trade works in practice and how commodities move around the world. You want to understand the forces shaping supply and demand, trade flows, production, shipping, and pricing, as well as the economic, political, and industrial developments behind market movements. You actively seek to understand not only what is happening, but why it matters.
