KPMG is searching for Intern in Tax and Legal Department

KPMG supplies tax know-how to our clients: we advise businesses on how taxation fits into the broader business picture, and implement decisions that deliver real value. We gain an in-depth understanding of our clients' needs and then provide insights to help them optimize costs - things like where in the world they should base their business to ensure they take advantage of the best tax incentives, and how they should organize their internal structure and tax department - extremely important factors which can help determine cost effectiveness.

What will I do in International Tax?

KPMG’s International Tax team helps clients manage tax matters related to doing business across different countries. The team works with both local and international companies, supporting them with business expansions, investments, financing arrangements, and corporate restructurings. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to international business, taxation, and large-scale projects involving multinational organizations.

A typical client relationship involves:

  • Researching international tax rules and tax treaties;
  • Supporting projects related to cross-border investments and business operations;
  • Analyzing company structures and identifying potential tax implications;
  • Assisting with international tax compliance requirements, including CFC-related matters;
  • Preparing tax memos, reports, and presentations for clients;
  • Supporting M&A, restructuring, and investment projects;
  • Working with clients and KPMG teams to develop practical tax solutions;
  • Monitoring changes in tax legislation and assessing their impact on clients.

What do I need?

  • A university degree in accounting/finance/economics/international relations/international law;
  • Good knowledge of Kazakh tax and accounting legislation is preferable;
  • Fluent English (at least Intermediate level);
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally;
  • Ability to work full-time.
