Commercials generally handles choosing and pricing the product; Customer Lifecycle takes over once the customer’s intent needs to become an active account, journey, or contract in Kraken.\nWhat you’ll own\nYou’ll be responsible for leading a team of engineers, making decisions on how the team operates and setting the technical direction of the team.\nThis role will involve line management duties, as well as being hands on and close to the code.\n\nYou’ll be responsible for ensuring the quality of the code being delivered through thoughtful code review.\n\nYour team will be building and maintaining the backend systems and support site for UK-based clients to support their electricity and gas operations.\n\nYou will gain a deep understanding of the inner workings of how the UK energy market operates and help shape our systems to improve them for our clients with a product mindset.\n\nWork with other market teams, primarily the UK market teams to support their operations.\n\nWork with client delivery to help prioritize, deliver and maintain work required by clients.\n\nBe responsible for monitoring and alerting of production systems and where required, lead and manage incidents.\n\nHelp mentor, guide your team\nWhat you bring to the party\n\nWe’re looking for someone with a general interest in technology and problem-solving; someone diligent and thoughtful\n\nYour level will be Senior Software Engineer or above and we expect you to have experience/expertise in the following (in rough priority order):\n\nPython and Django (or equivalent web framework) web development experience, as you will be asked to work on some full-stack projects\n\nDomain modelling, and ability to quickly absorb information about a complex industry\n\nHTTP and REST APIs\n\nWriting robust and fault-tolerant software\n\nCelery and async processing\n\nPostgres\n\nExperience being a technical leader in a team\n\nWe’re after someone who’s passionate about code, curious, and eager to learn.
