It offers spot trading, margin, futures, staking and OTC services, with products built for both individual investors and institutional clients.\nWe’re looking for a React Native Engineer to join our Business Services organisation, contributing to Support Center, a cross-functional team responsible for support-related experiences across Kraken’s products. The team builds and maintains the ways clients access help, including in-product support, chat, content and voice-based functionality across web and mobile applications.\nRather than owning one standalone product, Support Center contributes across multiple Kraken teams. You’ll work with Product, Design and Engineering stakeholders to understand their requirements, align on the right solution and deliver high-quality mobile functionality that meets each product’s performance, architecture and UX standards.\nThe opportunity\nDevelop and maintain high-quality mobile experiences using React Native and TypeScript across multiple Kraken products\n\nOwn initiatives end to end, from clarifying requirements and aligning stakeholders through implementation, release and post-launch iteration\n\nBuild support-related functionality such as in-product messaging, chat experiences, content, banners, modals and voice-call capabilities\n\nAdapt your approach to the needs of each product, whether the priority is performance, design precision, reliability or maintainability\n\nWork across Product, Design, mobile, web and backend teams to bring the right people together, resolve ambiguity and drive initiatives forward\n\nWrite clean, well-tested code and participate actively in technical design discussions, code reviews and mobile release processes\n\nContribute to real-time experiences using APIs and WebSockets, including Kraken-built alternatives to third-party support tooling\n\nHelp improve shared architecture, components and development practices across Support Center’s web and mobile contributions\n\nWhat you bring\n5+ years of software development experience, including hands-on experience building and shipping mobile applications with React Native\n\nStrong working knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript, together with experience using React and modern frontend development practices\n\nDemonstrated ability to own projects or mobile releases from initial requirements through production delivery\n\nExcellent organisation skills, with a structured approach to managing priorities, dependencies and cross-functional stakeholders\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to clarify ambiguous problems and build alignment\n\nA collaborative, low-ego mindset and the flexibility to contribute effectively within products and codebases owned by other teams\n\nExperience working with APIs, frontend testing, mobile performance and modern build and deployment pipelines\n\nSound technical judgement and attention to detail, with a consistent focus on quality, reliability and getting work completed\n\nNice to haves\nExperience with native iOS or Android development using Swift or Kotlin\n\nFamiliarity with Node.js or experience contributing beyond the frontend into backend systems\n\nExperience building real-time functionality using WebSockets, live messaging or asynchronous architectures\n\nFamiliarity with customer-support platforms or customer-experience tooling and APIs\n\nExperience owning iOS and Android build, deployment and release processes\n\nWorking knowledge of Rust, Go or C++\n\nExperience working across multiple products or teams within a large technology organisation\n\nPrevious experience in crypto, fintech, consumer finance or another highly regulated product environment\n\nUnless a specific application deadline is stated in the job posting, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.\nPlease note, applicants are permitted to redact or remove information on their resume that identifies age, date of birth, or dates of attendance at or graduation from an educational institution.\nWe consider qualified applicants with criminal histories for employment on our team, assessing candidates in a manner consistent with the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.\nOur commitment\nPayward is powered by people from around the world and we celebrate the diverse talents, backgrounds, contributions, and unique perspectives that everyone brings to the table.
