Reporting to the VP of Accounting, you'll lead on complex technical\naccounting matters, ensuring our customer contracts, billing processes and financial\nsystems support accurate, scalable reporting under both IFRS and US GAAP.\nThis is a highly collaborative role where you'll partner with Finance, Legal, Technology,\nBilling and Delivery teams to interpret complex commercial arrangements, influence system design and provide clear accounting guidance across the business.\nYou'll work closely with\nVP of Accounting, Group Finance teams and Sales,IFRS and US GAAP Reporting teams, Internal Assurance, Technology, Billing, Data Teams, Delivery, Systems, Legal and Commercial stakeholders.\nYou'll succeed by combining deep technical expertise with strong commercial awareness\nand the ability to build trusted relationships across the business.\nWhat you'll own\nAct as Kraken's subject matter expert for technical revenue accounting under IFRS\nand US GAAP.\n\nReview and interpret complex SaaS and commercial contracts, determining the\ncorrect accounting treatment.\n\nCoordinate across all departments to ensure\n\nPartner with Legal, Technology, Billing and Delivery teams to ensure accounting\nrequirements are reflected in systems and processes.\n\nTranslate technical accounting requirements into scalable system and process\ndesign.\n\nDevelop and maintain revenue accounting policies, controls and documentation.\n\nSupport IFRS consolidation, external reporting and US GAAP conversion activities.\n\nPrepare technical accounting papers for complex transactions and auditor review.\n\nImprove revenue accounting processes through automation, standardisation and\nstronger controls.\n\nBuild trusted relationships across the business, representing Group Accounting in\ncross-functional discussions.\n\nCommunicate complex accounting concepts in a simple, practical way for\nnon-finance stakeholders.\n\nWhat you'll bring\nACA, ACCA or CPA qualified with strong post-qualification experience.\n\nDeep technical expertise in IFRS and US GAAP, particularly revenue recognition\nwithin SaaS or technology businesses.\n\nExperience of regulated energy markets is a bonus but not a pre-requisite\n\nExperience interpreting complex customer contracts and applying accounting\n\nstandards to commercial arrangements.\n\nStrong understanding of group reporting, controls and financial systems.\n\nExcellent stakeholder management with the ability to influence across Finance,\n\nTechnology and Commercial teams.\n\nStrong analytical skills, attention to detail and a structured approach to problem\n\nsolving.\n\nConfident making technical accounting judgements and explaining them clearly to a\nwide range of audiences.\n\nExperience improving accounting processes, systems and controls in a fast-paced\nenvironment.\n\nAre you ready for a career with us?
