We have a proven track record of delivering high quality products throughout the defense industry.\nKTS is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to perform structural and thermal analysis, validate mechanical designs, and support the design and build of rugged electromechanical components used in demanding environments. This is a full-time position at the KTS facility in Des Plaines, IL.\nResponsibilities:\nConduct structural analysis using ANSYS to evaluate strength and performance.\nPerform thermal analysis using ANSYS ICEPAK to evaluate heat transfer and thermal management\nGenerate design reports and analysis results documentation.\nCollaborate with Systems and Electrical Engineering organizations to address performance requirements such as environmental and EMI/EMC considerations.\nWork directly with Government engineers to identify and validate structural and thermal requirements.\nDesign mechanical components and produce assembly/manufacturing drawings aligned with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and ASME standards.\nSupport design, build and installation of mechanical components.\nRequired Qualifications & Skills:\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with two or more years of work experience; or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Master’s degree in a related field.\nHands on experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).\nPrevious experience with military electromechanical design and aircraft mechanical hardware integration preferred.\nProficient with PTC CREO (preferred) or equivalent 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.\nProficiency with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), ASME Y14.100 Engineering Drawing Practices, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).\nWell-rounded knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)\nStrong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.\nAbility to multitask and work in a fast-paced engineering environment\nKnowledge of military standards such MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, and MIL-STD-810\nAbility to travel (< 25%)\nAbility to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance\nWe recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.
