{"id":3346114,"url":"https://alion.io/job/kreston-reeves-credit-controller","title":"Credit Controller","company":{"id":678831,"name":"Kreston Reeves","domain":"krestonreeves.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/krestonreeves","size_band":"11-50","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Pinpoint","truth_index":null},"role":"Finance","role_family":"Finance","seniority":null,"employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"hybrid","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Canterbury, United Kingdom"],"countries":["GB"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":45000,"max_usd":106000,"period":"year","method":"role_country_seniority_unknown","sample_n":588},"experience_years_min":null,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-26T17:14:25Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-26","last_verified_at":"2026-11-03T08:59:41Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":7,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":7},"description":"To support the Credit Control function through effective debt collection, debtor management, and cash flow improvement, while contributing to the firm's financial hygiene, WIP management, and lock up reduction.\nAbout the role\nScope, Reach & Key Relationships\nBusiness partner with selected Partners, Directors and Client-facing teams with the aim of reducing Debt and Work in progress on their portfolios. \nMaintain complex or escalated client’s queries.\nWork collaboratively with the wider Finance team.\nReport on WIP, debtors, Lock-up, collections and cash flow performance.\nPromoting best practice in billing, debt recovery, WIP management, and cash collection to support the firm’s financial hygiene.\nPrincipal Accountabilities / Responsibilities:\n Job/Workflow & Technical Management:\nEnsure timely collection of outstanding debts and payment\nMonitor aged debt reports ,and escalate high-risk accounts as required.\nMaintain accurate records of collection activity. \nSupport month-end reporting, WIP reviews, and lock-up analysis.\nIdentify and implement improvements to credit control processes and financial hygiene\nSupport Partners, Directors, and fee earners aged WIP management and timely billing.\nCarry out daily cash receipt allocations \nAdvise legal teams on escalated bad debt matters\n Monitor client credit risk and communicate concerns to the relevant stakeholders\n Client, Internal and External Organisational Contact:\nDevelop strong relationships with Partners, Directors, fee earners and stakeholders to support collection, WIP management and Lock-up reduction.\nCommunicate professionally and empathetically with clients to maintain relationships while securing payment. \nAddress disputes and queries promptly, working cross-functionally where needed to resolve issues.\nManaging and completing the core processes that underpin the debt recovery process including daily cash receipt posting, client reminders/statement runs, the processing of cheque, card and Direct Debit payments. \nAttendance and engagement at Credit Control and Finance meetings.\nPeriodic travel to other KR offices in Kent/London/Sussex to build key relationships and attend key meetings.\nPreparation and supply of reports to other members of the department or Partners on an ad hoc basis \nMaintain positive client relationships while securing payment and resolving queries \nMaintain Debt provisioning for reporting purposes. \nMonitoring your portfolio of debts though effective use of data. • Working effectively with preferred solicitor(s) to maximise net recoveries on older debt. \nWhat we're looking for\nGood A levels, or equivalent (ideally A*- C)\nGCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) grade 5- 9 (grade C and above)\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills \nConfident and passionate\nExcellent work ethic, driven and highly motivated\nEffective time and task management skills\nWhat we can offer\nFinancial wellbeing -
