This is a broad generalist compliance role supporting the business in meeting regulatory obligations while enabling customer-focused growth. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day compliance advice across retail banking activities, review and approve financial promotions, monitor regulatory developments, and support the bank's wider compliance framework. Other responsibilities include:\nReview, challenge and approve financial promotions in accordance with applicable FCA requirements, ensuring communications are clear, fair and not misleading.\nProvide timely compliance advice to business stakeholders across retail banking products and customer journeys, ensuring the banks meets its regulatory and Consumer Duty obligations..\nSupport the implementation and maintenance of the bank's compliance framework, including policies, procedures and controls.\nConduct compliance monitoring and thematic reviews, identifying areas for improvement and tracking remediation.\nAdvise on regulatory change and assist with implementing new FCA rules and guidance.\nSupport product governance and new product approval processes.\nAssist with regulatory risk assessments and compliance reporting.\nProvide compliance input into projects, change initiatives and business transformation activities.\nDeliver compliance training and raise regulatory awareness across the business.\nSupport internal and external audits and regulatory enquiries where required.\nAssist with the investigation of compliance incidents and breaches, ensuring appropriate escalation and remediation.\nMaintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Operations, Legal, Risk and Customer Services.\nRequirements\nEssential\nExperience gained within Compliance in a UK retail consumer bank or regulated financial services firm\nDemonstrable experience reviewing and approving Financial Promotions under FCA rules\nA good working knowledge of the FCA Handbook, including PRIN, Consumer Duty, DISP, and Financial Promotion rules (including COBS where relevant), plus CONC (desirable for consumer lending businesses) and BCOBS where applicable\nConfidence providing pragmatic compliance advice to first-line business teams\nA solid grounding in compliance monitoring, regulatory risk management and governance\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills\nThe ability to balance regulatory requirements with commercial objectives\nExcellent written, analytical and organisational skills\nDesirable\nExperience within consumer lending, savings, current accounts or other retail banking products\nExperience supporting regulatory change programmes\nKnowledge of vulnerable customer requirements\nA professional compliance qualification (such as the International Compliance Association Diploma or Advanced Certificate, or equivalent)\nExperience interacting with the Financial Conduct Authority\nPersonal Attributes\nStrong attention to detail\nSound judgement and integrity\nA collaborative approach with the confidence to provide constructive challenge\nA pragmatic, solutions focused mindset\nThe ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment\nA commitment to delivering good customer outcomes and maintaining high ethical standards\nWhat You'll Bring\nYou'll be an experienced compliance professional who enjoys working across a broad range of regulatory topics.
