Within our AV Integration Division, we support AV projects by delivering seamless equipment and technology solutions that enhance client satisfaction and operational efficiency.\nJob Summary\nWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Accountant to support the financial management of construction and renovation projects. This role is responsible for overseeing project financials from setup through closeout, ensuring accurate job costing, billing, and reporting in a fast-paced, project-based environment.\nThe ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, including WIP, progress billing, and contract compliance, and is comfortable partnering with project managers and operations teams to drive financial accuracy and project profitability. This is a salaried, exempt role requiring a high level of accountability, organization, and independent judgment.\nKey Responsibilities\nProject Accounting & Lifecycle Management\nManage financial aspects of construction projects from setup through closeout\nEnsure project setup, budgets, and cost structures are accurate and aligned with contract terms\nMonitor contract compliance, including change orders, billing schedules, and documentation\nTrack and manage preliminary liens and lien releases\nBilling & Accounts Receivable\nPrepare and manage progress billings, including AIA billings (G702/G703)\nEnsure timely and accurate invoicing in accordance with contract terms\nMonitor accounts receivable aging and support collection efforts\nReconcile customer accounts at month-end and year-end\nRespond to client inquiries related to billing and project financials\nPrepare and maintain WIP schedules for monthly reporting and annual audit support\nAccounts Payable & Cost Management\nReview and process subcontractor invoices, purchase orders, and project-related expenses\nEnsure all costs are accurately coded and allocated to the appropriate jobs\nTrack subcontractor compliance, including insurance and bonding documentation\nMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of all project costs\nPayroll & Labor Costing\nEnsure labor hours are accurately recorded and allocated to the correct projects\nSupport payroll processes related to job costing\nAssist with prevailing wage compliance where applicable\nReporting & Financial Analysis\nPartner with project managers and operations teams to monitor project financial performance\nAnalyze project costs, budgets, and forecasts, identifying variances and trends\nPrepare regular financial reports, including cost analysis and profitability insights\nSupport forecasting and budget updates for active projects\nIdentify risks or discrepancies and recommend corrective actions\nCompliance & Process Improvement\nEnsure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and contract requirements\nMaintain organized documentation to support audits and financial reviews\nParticipate in process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability\nSupport internal controls related to project accounting and financial reporting\nQualifications\n3+ years of construction or project-based accounting experience preferred\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred\nStrong understanding of construction accounting principles, including job costing, WIP, progress billing, and retainage\nExperience with AIA billing (G702/G703 forms)\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel\nExperience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks or similar platforms\nStrong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environment\nStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally\nCompensation and Benefits\nSalary Range: $74,000 -
