This role assists with design validation, technical documentation, component selection, and engineering support activities while collaborating with Project Managers, Application Engineers, Drafting, Manufacturing, and Technical Service teams.\nThe position is responsible for helping develop practical engineering solutions that support customer requirements, manufacturing efficiency, and product performance while ensuring compliance with engineering standards and company procedures.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nUtilize customized computer-aided design (CAD) tools and engineering systems to support product development and design activities.\nReview customer orders and technical specifications to ensure design requirements and project details are clearly defined.\nProvide technical support to Application Engineers regarding outside equipment specifications and customer requirements.\nAssist in creating and maintaining technical documentation for purchased equipment and vendor-supplied components.\nPerform design checks and support Project Managers with component selection and general assembly design activities.\nDesign sub-bases, guards, sole plates, and related support structures for pump installations.\nSupport coordination of work activities for CAD Operators and drafting resources.\nClarify technical details and provide engineering support to drafter/modelers as required.\nCreate formula-driven spreadsheets and engineering calculation tools for design team use.\nPerform stress and structural analysis using commercial Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software under engineering guidance.\nDesign special tooling and coordinate with Purchasing and vendors to ensure compliance with GIW standards and specifications.\nWork with manufacturing personnel and outside vendors to resolve technical questions related to drawings, fabrication, and assembly.\nSupport field sales teams by evaluating customer options and developing design layouts.\nCreate standard General Arrangement drawings to support order processing efficiency and customer responsiveness.\nParticipate in cross-functional engineering teams supporting competitor equipment replacement and customer solution development.\nAssist Project Managers, Application Engineers, and Purchasing with technical discussions involving customers and vendors.\nUpdate work instructions, procedures, and engineering documentation as processes evolve.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering processes, manufacturing efficiency, and product quality.\nPerform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nKEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS\nAccuracy and quality of engineering drawings and technical documentation.\nSuccessful completion of engineering projects within established timelines.\nReduction in design-related manufacturing or assembly issues.\nTimely resolution of technical and product support requests.\nCompliance with safety, quality, and engineering standards.\nContinuous improvement contributions supporting cost savings, efficiency, or product enhancement.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering discipline required.\nExperience:\nMinimum 3-5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.\nExperience with pump systems, rotating equipment, or heavy industrial equipment preferred.\nExperience with CAD software, engineering analysis, and technical documentation required.\nSKILLS / COMPETENCIES\nProficiency with CAD software including NX / UGNX.\nExperience with Teamcenter or related product lifecycle management systems.\nKnowledge of GD&T, ISO tolerances, and technical drawing interpretation.\nExperience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and CAE simulation tools.\nUnderstanding of pump design principles and rotating equipment applications.\nProgramming knowledge including C, C#, or C++ preferred.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nEffective verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.\nStrong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration abilities.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nFrequently:\nSitting, computer work, reviewing technical documentation, and attending meetings.\nWorking in office and engineering environments.\nOccasionally:\nWalking through manufacturing and testing facilities.\nStanding, bending, and inspecting equipment in industrial environments.\nWearing required PPE in designated production areas.\nLimited travel to customer or vendor locations as needed.\nKSB Group is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
