This role ensures materials meet engineering, quality, and safety standards by working closely with Manufacturing and Quality teams. The technician performs inspections, material testing, and data entry while contributing to continuous improvement and ISO quality system requirements.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nFollow all GIW safety, environmental, and housekeeping requirements and use required PPE.\nPerform inspections and testing on in-process and returned castings to identify defects or quality concerns.\nSupport first-article inspections and part qualification activities through visual and dimensional inspections.\nRead and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.\nAccurately document inspection and test results and communicate findings to Manufacturing and Quality teams.\nCreate and maintain SAP quality notifications, inspection records, and test results.\nPerform routine checks and support calibration of inspection and testing equipment.\nConduct material testing including chemical analysis (ARL), tensile testing, and basic metallurgical evaluations as required.\nPerform non-destructive testing (VT, LPI, UT) in accordance with procedures, training, and certification level.\nSupport ISO 9001 quality system requirements, internal audits, and corrective action activities.\nParticipate in safety audits and promote safe work practices within the foundry.\nPerform other duties as assigned to support quality and manufacturing objectives.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nWorking knowledge of quality and safety practices in an industrial environment.\nAbility to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.\nAbility to learn and use SAP and electronic quality systems.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications.\nStrong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately.\nEffective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.\nBasic to intermediate math skills for measurements and test data interpretation.\nEducation & Experience\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent (required).\nTechnical training, associate degree, or equivalent work experience preferred.\nExperience in a manufacturing, foundry, or quality inspection environment preferred.\nExperience with material testing, chemical analysis, or non-destructive testing is an asset.\nWORKING CONDITIONS\nWork performed in a foundry or industrial manufacturing environment.\nExposure to heat, noise, machinery, and industrial materials.\nPhysical requirements include standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and lifting up to 70 pounds.\nMay require overtime or flexible scheduling based on operational needs.\nGIW Industries, Inc.
