This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers and coordinates cross-functional activities to ensure projects are executed in accordance with contractual, technical, schedule, and financial requirements. Working under the guidance of Senior Project Managers and department leadership, the Project Manager I supports the successful delivery of pump systems and integrated solutions while developing project management expertise and business knowledge.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nReview purchase orders, work orders, and proposals to ensure alignment with customer specifications, contractual requirements, and delivery expectations.\nVerify pump system component selections for compatibility and compliance with overall system performance requirements.\nPrepare and administer change orders, ensuring scope modifications and contractual requirements are properly documented and communicated.\nNegotiate and implement customer-requested changes following order placement.\nCoordinate with external vendors regarding auxiliary equipment procurement and supporting documentation.\nResolve issues related to equipment design, quality requirements, and manufacturing readiness prior to production release.\nCoordinate project schedules and milestone tracking with Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Management, Purchasing, Quality Control, Finance, Shipping, and Order Management.\nManage documentation submittals and support the preparation of final installation, operation, and maintenance manuals.\nMonitor project financial performance, including invoicing, progress billing, cash flow, budget tracking, profitability analysis, and financial reporting.\nCoordinate customer inspection visits and ensure compliance with contractual quality requirements.\nArrange installation and startup support activities with Technical Services and Service Group personnel.\nAnalyze project variances and support corrective actions to maintain project objectives.\nMaintain strong customer relationships and serve as the primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle.\nAssist in the development and continuous improvement of project management procedures, training materials, and reference documentation.\nPursue ongoing professional development related to project management practices and GIW products.\nPerform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nKEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:\nOn-time completion and delivery of assigned projects.\nAchievement of project budget, profitability, and cash flow objectives.\nAccuracy and timeliness of project documentation and customer deliverables.\nCustomer satisfaction and responsiveness throughout project execution.\nSuccessful resolution of project issues with minimal escalation.\nCompliance with contractual, quality, and safety requirements.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nEducation:\nBachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or a related field.\nProject Management coursework, certification, or related professional development.\n\nExperience:\nOne (1) to three (3) years of experience in project management, proposals, sales, marketing, applications engineering, operations, manufacturing, or a related field.\nExperience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.\nExperience with system integration projects.\nFamiliarity with centrifugal pumps, process pumps, motors, gear reducers, couplings, drive components, and control systems.\nAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings.\nSKILLS / COMPETENCIES:\nTechnical Skills\nProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Adobe Acrobat.\nWorking knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Access, and SQL preferred.\nAbility to interpret technical specifications, engineering documentation, and manufacturing processes.\nStrong financial and project scheduling aptitude.\nProfessional Competencies\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nStrong organizational and time management abilities.\nExceptional attention to detail and accuracy.\nCustomer-focused mindset with strong relationship-building skills.\nAbility to prioritize competing responsibilities and meet deadlines.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.\nCommitment to continuous learning and professional development.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nFrequently\nSitting, standing, and walking.\nUsing a computer and standard office equipment.\nReading, reviewing, and preparing technical and contractual documentation.\nCommunicating verbally and in writing with customers, vendors, and internal personnel.\nOccasionally\nVisiting manufacturing and production areas.\nConducting customer or vendor meetings.\nLifting and carrying light office materials.\nTraveling to customer sites, vendor locations, or manufacturing facilities as required.\nTravel Requirements\nOccasional domestic travel may be required to support project execution, inspections, customer meetings, or manufacturing activities.\nKSB GIW, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
