The position is based in Nairobi and requires on-site work.\n\nPosition Scope\n\nReporting to the Manager, Procurement, Analysis and Projects, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting group procurement strategy to achieve objectives of lowering costs of critical goods and services while reducing supplier risk and increasing supplier value.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nParticipating in the developing of an enabled roadmap towards best practice process efficiency and effectiveness;\n\nParticipating in developing and tracking procurement metrics including areas of spending, requisition to pay process, operational efficiencies and supplier performance;\n\nMonitoring supply markets and market/cost drivers and share insights and benchmarks from the industry with key stakeholders and senior management;\n\nContributing to research and analysis of price and innovation trends for goods and services procured by the group;\n\nLiaising with the manager to provide detailed analysis and information which may have financial, technical and or legal impact and sourcing decisions;\n\nParticipating in supplier selection, bid evaluation and post tender negotiation process;\n\nProviding the business units with critical logistical and administrative information and support necessary to plan and budget their needs;\n\nProviding support in identifying cost reduction opportunities through process automation, variety reduction and standardization and supply base and purchasing cycle rationalization;\n\nMonitoring and analysing current trends in the marketplace;\n\nContributing to management by reporting on procurement key performance indicators.\n\nQualifications \n\nA bachelor’s degree in supply chain, procurement, logistics or related qualifications.\n\nMinimum 6 years of work experience with at least three in a similar position\n\nProfessional certification in Supply Chain Management/ Diploma in Purchasing and supplies/Logistics Management\n\nA member of KISM/CIPS/CSPS\n\nStrong interpersonal skills including communication, negotiation, analytical persuasion, motivation, problem solving and flexible \n\nGood negotiation skills\n\nStrong financial reporting, planning and organizational skills\n\nShould have thorough knowledge of the relevant industry/sector as well as knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting the relevant sector\n\nMust have ability to plan, organize, implement and evaluate assigned goals\n\nMust demonstrate ability to handle multiple and conflicting priorities, and work under strict deadlines.\n\nShould have strong analytical and be result oriented \n\nMust have high standards of integrity and ethical practice\n\nMust be capable of functioning effectively both as a team player and a team leader\n\nMust have management skills\n\nMust have ability to accurately plan work assignments, prioritize tasks and deliver deadlines\n\nShould have problem solving and decision making abilities\n\nShould be an effective communicator with the ability to handle both internal and external communication\n\nShould have effective people management and conflict resolution
