Being at the PGA of America means you are supported, respected, and appreciated for your contributions.\nThe Senior Accountant provides comprehensive accounting and financial support to PGA of America Section offices by maintaining accurate and complete general ledger records, managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, preparing financial statements and management reports, and supporting budget planning and variance analysis. Serving as a trusted financial partner to Section Executive Directors and staff, this role provides guidance on accounting policies, financial procedures, reporting, and internal controls; leads the onboarding of new Sections into the Section Financial Program; trains Section Accountants; supports process improvement initiatives; and serves as the primary backup for assigned Sections.\nRESPONSIBILITIES (Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):\nResponsible for the monthly financial close by preparing account reconciliations, submitting journal entries and working with Sections to obtain relevant information.\nManage monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for assigned PGA of America Section offices.\nTrack fixed assets and review depreciation schedules.\nServe as a financial resource and business partner to Section Executive Directors and staff.\nPrepare timely and accurate financial statements, management reports, and other financial analyses.\nReview financial statements with Section Executive Directors and explain trends, variances, and opportunities for corrective action.\nWork with accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure processing is timely and accurate.\nTrain and coach Section staff on accounting processes, policies, procedures, and financial reporting tools.\nAssist Sections with the preparation, review, and monitoring of annual operating budgets.\nSupport the onboarding and implementation of new Sections entering the Section Financial Program.\nLead or contribute to special projects, departmental initiatives, and cross-functional process improvements.\nServe as the primary backup for assigned Sections and provide coverage during staff absences or periods of increased activity.\nBring forward ideas that enhance efficiency, consistency, service delivery, and the overall Section experience.\nDevelop and implement methodologies to improve the tracking, analysis, and reporting of financial and performance metrics.\nProactively identify issues, recommend solutions, and add value to the department, colleagues, and Section offices.\nINCLUSION:\nContribute to a respectful and inclusive team environment by welcoming and respecting others’ beliefs, backgrounds, identities, abilities, and individuality to help ensure a supportive and engaging experience for Association Members, partners, customers, and guests. Must have the ability to apply strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills when interpreting accounting policies, regulations, and related guidance. Must have the ability to maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive financial and organizational information. Must have the ability to provide effective financial support to three to four PGA of America Sections while managing competing priorities and deadlines. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to explain financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. Working knowledge of Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Google Docs. Basic fluency in artificial intelligence (AI) tools and concepts.
