The role partners with Project Management, Sales, Operations, and FP&A to translate to ensure fixed price and T&M contracts are accounted for properly. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with visibility to the Controller and the external auditors.\nKey responsibilities\nSet up new projects and contracts in the ERP, including budgets, billing terms, and cost codes.\nTrack and review project costs (labor, materials, subcontractors, overhead allocations) for accuracy and proper coding.\nPrepare and issue project invoices, including progress, milestone, time-and-materials, and billings.\nMaintain WIP schedules and recognize revenue over time under ASC 606 (percentage of completion), including over/under billings.\nReview estimates-at-completion with project managers.\nPost project-related journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations as part of month-end close.\nReview contracts and change orders for accounting impact and compliance with billing and reporting terms\nManage project closeout: final billing, retainage collection, and reconciling costs to the contract.\nPrepare audit schedules for project revenue, WIP, and contract balances.\nRequired qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance\nIndustry experience in a professional services organization.\n4+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years focused on revenue or project accounting.\nExperience with percent-of-completion (cost-to-cost) accounting and estimate-at-completion reviews.\nAdvanced Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, large data sets).\nExperience working with auditors and documenting internal controls.\nClear communicator who can explain accounting outcomes to non-finance partners.\nDesired Aptitude and Skill Set:\nDetail-oriented\nStrong organizational skills and verbal/written communication skills\nHighly motivated self-starter with a sense of ownership and willingness to learn\nThrive in a fast-paced, growing, and dynamic work environment\nAbility to form partnerships with internal and client stakeholders\nSeasoned soft skills (i.e., high EQ)\nComfortable leading, delegating to, and developing team members\nTechnology savvy\nTravel:\nHybrid in our RTP headquarters.\nCareer Development:\nThe position will evolve over time and more responsibilities may be added.
