The role requires collaboration with maintenance and engineering teams to diagnose and resolve electrical and automation issues, build and install custom control panels, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance production efficiency and equipment reliability. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all electrical systems.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nWork alongside maintenance and engineering teams to troubleshoot and repair electrical and control system issues in real-time.\n Provide support for PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and safety devices.\n Assist in updating and maintaining electrical and control documentation (schematics, wiring diagrams, PLC programs).\n Build and wire custom electrical control panels from schematics and layout drawings.\nInstall control panels and integrate them with machinery and production equipment.\n Test panel functionality and troubleshoot as needed prior to deployment.\nProgram, test, and validate proper alarms, annunciation, safety interlock behaviors, redundancy fail-over strategies and other plant safety and downtime avoidance techniques aimed at maximizing safety while increasing uptime and preventing damage to expensive machinery.\nIdentify opportunities for improving equipment performance, reliability and safety.\nAssist engineers in implementing automation upgrades and optimization projects.\nUtilize LEAN tools such as Standardized Work, 5S, Visual Management as well as leading Kaizen projects and documenting results to support continuous improvement projects.\nIdentify and establish machine spares for equipment as needed.\nMaintain accurate records of wiring changes, modification, and system configurations.\nContribute to standard work instructions (WI) for new and existing control systems.\nAbility to read and interpret legacy plant electrical engineering diagrams and schematics associated with relay control systems and analog instrumentation.\nRequirements\nMust hold an Electrician Journeyman card or an Electrician license from a state program and have 8 years of direct experience with electrical and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.\nPLC programming on Allen-Bradley product lines, including Studio 5000, RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5, Connected Components, and Factorytalk View Studio.\nStrong troubleshooting skills for electrical and control systems.\nAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.\nProficiency with hand tools, multimeters, and basic electrical testing equipment.\nMust be willing to work altered schedules/overtime as needed to support the plant.\nTwo plus (2+) years of experience building and wiring electrical panels or working in a similar industrial controls/automation environment.\nBasic understanding of process control principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).\nFamiliarity with machine safety standards and practices (e.g., NFPA 70E, ISO 13849)\nSkills and Competencies\nProven written and verbal communication skills to provide effective and meaningful discussions and presentations at all levels of the organization.\nStrong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and decision-making skills.\nTenacity, drive, and resilience in the face of fast paced change and challenges\nProven ability to successfully handle multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines.\nDemonstrated ability to lead, motivate and coach people in varying disciplines to achieve performance goals.\nAbility to anticipate, set, and manage priorities, resources, goals and projects.\nMust be highly safety conscious and fully committed to a safety-first work culture.\nMust be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment and especially must be able to interface and communicate with different levels of management.\nAbility to ready and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.\nAbility to write routine reports and correspondence.\nAbility to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.\nPhysical Requirements\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
