Is accountable to deliver equipment, property and buildings that are fabricated,\nmaintained and repaired 100% in compliance with applicable safety and operating standards.\nResponsible to maintain all documents, records and files to support Maintenance department activities.\nBased on the demonstrated skill set, knowledge, continuing education, maintenance expertise\nand compliance with Company safety and quality requirements, individuals in the Maintenance\nMechanic position will be classed by wage grade commencing at Maintenance Mechanic A - 4\nand ending at Maintenance Mechanic A - 1.\nDuties and Responsibilities\n1. Inspect, repair and perform routine maintenance on all equipment, property and buildings\nassociated with Company operations consistent with Maintenance Department Standard Operating\nProcedures (SOP’s) to support 100% safe operations and in compliance with Company quality\nstandards and systems.\na. Complete assigned daily scheduled equipment, property and Company building inspections.\nTake all corrective action needed up to and including the restriction or removal of the\nequipment or property from daily operations.\nb. Complete regularly scheduled preventive maintenance consistent with Maintenance\nDepartment SOP\n2. Identify and correctly diagnose reported equipment, property and building problems. Complete all\nrequired repairs. Request assistance and consult others as needed. All repair and maintenance\nsolutions must meet or exceed applicable Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.\n3. Maintain all equipment property and building inspection, repair and preventive maintenance\nschedules, logs, files and records. Work with Manufacturing Management/Supervision and other\nCompany Managers to schedule/complete all maintenance and repairs with a minimum of\ndisruption to daily operations.\n4. Properly store and maintain all company issued tools and related equipment. Requisition required\nnew tools and replacements for Manager approval.\n5. Maintain a self-improvement program through the regular completion of course work, attendance at\ntopical seminars and readings to continually develop the individual’s equipment, property and\nbuilding maintenance skill set, knowledge and expertise.\nWorking Conditions\nWork Environment: Indoors and outdoors\nAtmospheric Conditions: Indoors - Maintenance Shop environment\nOutdoors - Variety of weather conditions\nTemperature Extremes: When working Outdoors below 32 o and above 100 o\nMaterials, Tools and Equipment Used: Common hand and power tools used in a vehicle and manufacturing maintenance environment. Welding (gas/stick/mig) and burning equipment. Common vehicle inspection, maintenance and manufacturing maintenance diagnostic equipment. personal computer and printer, telephone, copier and fax machine. Required safety\nequipment includes hardhat, steel toe boots, industrial safety glasses, hearing protection, work gloves and respirator.\nPerformance in this position is evaluated objectively by the condition of assigned Company equipment,\nproperty and buildings, the timely completion of all assigned inspection, repair and preventive\nmaintenance projects and the timely and accurate completion of all Maintenance records, logs and\nfiles. Subjectively, performance in this position is evaluated by the satisfaction of Company Managers\nwith the inspection/preventive maintenance tasks completed by the employee, the employee’s\nproductivity, the employee’s demonstrated current skill set, knowledge and expertise, inspection,\nmaintenance and repair creativity and the employee’s continued skill development.\nRequirements\nPosition Requirements\nHigh School or Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED).\nMaintenance Mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment required, five (5) years\npreferred\nDemonstrated skills in the maintenance of a broad range of equipment in a heavy\nmanufacturing environment and the identification and diagnosis of plant and equipment\noperating problems.\nDemonstrated skills with common hand and power tools.\nElectrical power distribution (480v/3 phase) experience required.\nExperience with common PC office applications such as MS Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes\nrequired.\nWithin 14 days from date of hire must pass in-house certification of tow motor operation and hi-reach\noperation.\nMust be able to work at heights.\nMust be able to work in confined spaces.\nPipe installation experience desired.\nOverhead crane experience preferred.\nHydraulic/pneumatic/water distribution system experience desired.\nPhysical Demands of the Position:\nStanding, Walking, Sitting at computer, Lifting, Carrying, Pushing, Climbing, Balancing, Bending, Twisting, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Handling tools and documents, Speaking, Hearing, Seeing, Depth Perception, Color Vision, Foot Controls, Driving\nSalary Description\n$30 -
