You’ll be in good company among our global community of experts leading the future of mainframe modernization. Experts who share knowledge openly and collaborate freely.\nIn this role, you’ll design, build and maintain the high-volume business logic that runs on the mainframe. At the same time you’ll play a key role in refactoring legacy code to enable modern cloud and mobile applications to seamlessly interact with the mainframe’s core data.\nKey Responsibilities\nDeveloping and testing Java microservices based on predefined architectural and functional specifications;\n\nImplementing business logic for complex, highly reliable transactional processes;\n\nContributing to the development of orchestration, integration, and data synchronization services;\n\nImplementing REST APIs documented using the OpenAPI 3.0 specification;\n\nWriting automated unit and integration tests, while contributing to the overall quality and maintainability of the codebase;\n\nSupporting debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization activities;\n\nCollaborating with the team on observability, structured logging, metrics, and distributed tracing initiatives;\n\nDeveloping highly reliable services for transactional processes with stringent scalability and resilience requirements.\n\nWho You Are\nTechnical Skills - Mandatory Skills and Qualifications\nThe candidate must possess the following mandatory skills and qualifications:\n5+ years of experience\n\nProficiency in Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.x;\n\nExperience in designing and implementing applications based on the microservices architectural pattern;\n\nStrong knowledge of PostgreSQL and Redis;\n\nFamiliarity with Apache Kafka or equivalent messaging systems;\n\nAbility to develop and consume RESTful APIs;\n\nKnowledge of OpenAPI 3.0 and Swagger specifications;\n\nExperience with Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and OpenShift;\n\nSolid experience in automated testing using JUnit 5;\n\nExperience with static code analysis tools to ensure code quality and security;\n\nBasic knowledge of structured logging, monitoring, and observability practices.\n\nAbility to independently manage technical tasks, from requirements analysis through implementation;\n\nProven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with architects, business analysts, and testers;\n\nStrong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and adherence to project and security standards;\n\nGood technical documentation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders.\n\nThe following skills and experience will be considered a plus:\nExperience in mainframe-to-cloud migration projects or legacy system modernization initiatives;\n\nExperience in developing with Python;\n\nKnowledge of Spring Cloud Gateway, Resilience4j, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry;\n\nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins);\n\nExperience with data integration and synchronization solutions in hybrid cloud/mainframe environments.\n\nExperience working in environments with stringent security, audit trail, and traceability requirements;\n\nKnowledge of architectural and migration patterns such as Strangler Fig, Dual Run, rollback strategies, and transactional consistency management;\n\nExperience with platforms heavily dependent on integrations with external systems and legacy back-end environments.\n\n#KYNHIRINGKIIS\nBeing You\nThe “Kyn” in Kyndryl means kinship, which represents the strong bonds we have with each other, our customers and our communities.
