The Role
The Testing Lead will coordinate functional, technical, regression, integration, performance, data validation, and user acceptance testing activities. The role will work closely with development teams, business users, architects, data teams, and operations teams to ensure defects are identified, prioritized, tracked, resolved, and validated in a controlled manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and manage the end-to-end testing strategy for application modernization initiatives.
- Coordinate test planning, test case design, execution, defect tracking, and test reporting.
- Ensure validation of legacy vs. modernized application behavior, including business rules, data outputs, interfaces, and batch/job processing.
- Lead functional, integration, regression, performance, data reconciliation, and UAT testing activities.
- Coordinate with development, business, architecture, data, infrastructure, and operations teams.
- Define entry and exit criteria for each testing phase.
- Manage defect triage, prioritization, root cause analysis, retesting, and closure.
- Ensure testing evidence, traceability, and quality metrics are properly documented.
- Provide clear status reporting on test progress, defects, risks, blockers, and readiness.
Support production readiness, cutover validation, and post-deployment stabilization.
Who You Are
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience leading testing workstreams in application modernization, migration, or complex transformation programs.
- Strong knowledge of test strategy, test planning, functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, UAT, and defect management.
- Experience validating legacy-to-modernized application behavior, data reconciliation, and parallel testing is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Mainframe, COBOL, Java, batch processing, databases, APIs, and enterprise integrations is a plus.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools.
- Strong analytical skills to identify gaps, exceptions, test coverage risks, and quality issues.
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
