With customers’ mission-critical needs always in mind, our more than 50,000 employees deliver end-to-end technology solutions connecting the space, air, land, sea and cyber domains.\nJob Title: Intern, Aerospace Engineering\nJob Code: 42725\nJob Location: Canoga Park, CA\nJob Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off\nJob Description:\nStructural analysis of aircraft modifications, including design support, and preparation of technical documentation necessary to ensure airworthiness\n\nDetermination of stress levels in primary and secondary aircraft structure, systems, and equipment resulting from applied and induced loads, as well as the comparison of these stresses with material properties to predict failure and structural instabilities given due consideration to applicable failure theories\n\nQualifications:\nMust be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree, or a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science Engineering or related field at an accredited university.\n\nPreferred Skills:\nCAD or analysis (FEA) tools exposure, and/or experience in mechanical design or analysis of electronic systems, structures and mechanisms\n\nFamiliarity with transducer instrumentation, data collection and or automation and software programming for numerical analysis\n\nMust be able to apply the principles of Structural Mechanics to predict internal stresses and structural instabilities\n\nMust be able to generate free body diagrams, determine reaction forces, calculate internal loads, and develop shear and moment diagrams\n\nWorking knowledge of one programming language\n\nFamiliarity with finite element methods and fatigue and damage tolerance principles\n\nIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $25 - $48/hour.
