This position involves extensive hands-on work in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing aircraft to ensure compliance with safety regulations and performance standards.\n\nEssential Functions:\nPerforms maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft components in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations.\nConduct thorough inspections to identify any wear, tear, or damage, and carry out necessary repairs.\nUse diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and resolve aircraft system issues.\nAdhere to maintenance manuals, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements during all maintenance activities.\nDocument all maintenance activities accurately in maintenance logs and records.\nCollaborate with engineering teams and provide feedback on aircraft performance and any issues encountered.\nEnsure that all tools, materials, and equipment are calibrated correctly and maintained in good working condition.\nParticipate in continuous improvement activities to enhance maintenance processes and practices.\nPerforms flightline operations, aircraft inspections, or repairs, sometimes in confined spaces and inclement weather.\nStrong understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.\nAbility to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering documentation.\nAbility to obtain certification to operate self-propelled vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, aircraft support equipment, and towing vehicles. \nProficiency with aircraft maintenance software and diagnostic tools.\nWillingness and ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts.\nAbility to climb, including ladders, stairs, and portable stands and navigate these with or without reasonable accommodation. \nAbility to lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance required.\n\nQualifications:\nRequires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.\nMinimum 6 months experience in aircraft maintenance on P-8, preferably with a focus on complex mechanical and avionics systems.\nAbility to pass a flightline physical.\nMust have required tools prior to starting work; tool list will be provided. Tools must be shadowed and engraved.
