For over 70 years, L3Harris has designed and developed industry-leading carriage and release systems for fighter, rotary-wing and unmanned platforms and we design, manufacture and test a large portion of our release systems portfolio in our Brighton facility which offers 48,500 square feet of manufacturing space. Our mission-critical release systems equipment is on most major airborne fighter platforms worldwide, including the F-35, along with other aircraft like the Gripen and Typhoon.\nPlease note, our Brighton business is moving to a new location in 2027. The new site is expected to be located in either Shoreham, Burgess Hill or Horsham and will be within a 15-minute drive of our current site.\nThe Assembly Technician is a highly skilled and experienced electro-mechanical technician responsible for the assembly, testing, inspection, repair and refurbishment of complex aerospace products and assemblies. Operating with a high level of autonomy, the role serves as a technical focal point within the production area, providing guidance and support to colleagues while ensuring compliance with quality, delivery and safety requirements.\nThe role is expected to contribute significantly to continuous improvement activities, manufacturing process development, new product introduction and the successful your role will include the following:\nBuild, assemble and test complex electro-mechanical products, motors and assemblies to engineering drawings, specifications and route cards.\nCarry out advanced soldering, wiring, fitting and assembly activities to aerospace workmanship standards.\nPerform detailed electrical and mechanical inspection activities.\nConduct testing using specialised equipment including:\nOscilloscopes\nDigital Multimeters\nInsulation Resistance Testers\nVibration Test Equipment\nEnvironmental Test Equipment\nAutomated Test Equipment (where applicable)\nDiagnose manufacturing, test and product issues and identify appropriate corrective actions.\nAssess returned products and complete defect investigations to determine repair and refurbishment requirements.\nStrip, inspect, clean, repair, rebuild and test products to approved specifications.\nAccurately complete all production, inspection and test documentation.\nMaintain full traceability throughout the manufacturing process.\nSupport first-off builds, prototype development and pre-production activities.\nWork closely with Manufacturing Engineering to develop, review and improve manufacturing methods and route card instructions.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices.\nProvide technical guidance and practical support to less
