Our state of the art electro optical stabilized imaging systems are recognized globally for their durability, capability, and modularity. This success is driven by the technical excellence of our Mechanical Engineering team and the critical role they play in developing industry leading products.\nThis role provides direct support to the engineering design team to facilitate preparation and implementation of Engineering Change Requests and Change Orders in the PLM system. With cross functional input, prepares detailed Bills of Materials for new product configurations and maintains data structures through to product end of life. Acts as a Subject Matter Expert of PLM system best practices and change processes for engineering in regular technical review board meetings for all product lines.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nPlan, prepare and execute sustaining and NPI engineering changes in accordance with established processes and company standards.\nReview engineering changes for accuracy, completeness and compliance with applicable engineering and configuration management requirements.\nCreate required engineering change reports and participate in Technical Review Board meetings as required.\nBuild and maintain product BOM structures and baseline configurations based on input from Design, Manufacturing and other Engineering functions.\nMaintain the accuracy and integrity of engineering data, product structures, part information and associated documentation within company PLM and ERP systems.\nCoordinate with Engineering, Configuration Management, Program Management, Operations and other stakeholders to facilitate the timely release of engineering changes.\nSupport commercial part number validation, data management, component lifecycle and obsolescence activities.\nProvide guidance to Engineering personnel on established engineering change processes, tools and requirements.\nSupport training of Engineering personnel on engineering change processes and tools and maintain associated training materials.\nInvestigate and resolve engineering change, BOM and product configuration issues within established processes, escalating more complex issues as required.\nIdentify and propose improvements to engineering change processes, systems and workflows.\nSupport the implementation of departmental and cross functional continuous improvement initiatives.\nThe duties and responsibilities described in this job profile are not intended to be all inclusive.\nAdditional job-related duties may be assigned as necessary to support business objectives and organizational requirements.\nDesired Skills and Knowledge\nWorking knowledge of Configuration Management principles, concepts, practices and standards, including EIA-649 and ISO 10007.\nWorking knowledge of PLM, PDM and ERP systems used to manage engineering data, product structures and engineering changes.\nAbility to understand and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, technical documentation and engineering terminology.\nWorking knowledge of component management, commercial part management and obsolescence processes.\nGood working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.\nStrong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and propose solutions within established processes.\nAbility to exercise sound judgement and initiative within defined procedures and guidelines.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain information and requirements.\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, balance priorities and meet deadlines.\nAbility to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.\nSelf motivated, adaptable and willing to learn new processes, systems and tools.\nDemonstrated interest in continuous improvement and the ability to identify and propose improvements to existing processes and workflows.\nCMII or CMPIC certification is considered an asset.\nMeets the requirements of the Controlled Goods Registration Program and is eligible for a Canadian government security clearance.\nProficiency in the local language (spoken and written) is required where necessary to effectively perform the responsibilities of the role, collaborate with employees and stakeholders, and support business operations within the local market.\nEducation and Experiences Requirements\nBachelor’s Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience\nIn lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of prior related experience\n*This posting is for a current vacancy.
