This position serves as a developmental role for security professionals seeking to grow within the defense industry, working under the mentorship of senior security leadership to protect personnel, information, facilities, and assets. The associate security manager is responsible for assigning, leading, and reviewing the work of security professionals and/or lower-level supervisors.\nEssential Functions:\nLeads, directs and reviews the work of direct report(s) to accomplish near-term operational plans and results\nPlans and establishes goals and objectives for an industrial security team with direct impact on the short and long-term operational results for the department\nProvides input on hiring, firing, promotion, performance, and/or compensation decisions for own organization\nExplains, interprets, and gains cooperation on policies, practices, and processes to others within the organization\nResponsible for effective communications regarding security by interfacing with or liaising with external customers (Government, Associate Contractors, Subcontractors) and internal L3Harris organizations\nMake moderate to substantial improvements to processes, systems, and solutions\nConduct, and supervise others that conduct, personnel security functions such as security education and training, initial security indoctrination briefings, debriefings, annual refresher training, and corporate requisite training\nCommunicate with parties within and outside of own job function/area, which includes customers or vendors \nProvide leadership on special projects that cut across the business and the company, to include assisting with SMS-wide security process standardization\nFoster teamwork and collaborative efforts among Security group members to ensure timely completion of group project tasks and responsibilities\nTravel up to 10% may be required\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
