This position supports the Materials Laboratory, providing materials testing and technical support for both metallic and non-metallic materials across Space and Defense product lines.\nIn this role, you will perform hands-on laboratory testing, materials analysis, and sample preparation, while also supporting broader engineering efforts such as research, development, and failure investigations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys laboratory work, learning new test methods, and supporting multidisciplinary engineering teams.\nEssential Functions:\nWork under direct supervision following detailed instructions, established procedures, and laboratory protocols.\nPerform materials testing, including sample preparation, materials characterization, and Instron mechanical testing.\nSupport engineering projects by developing test protocols, conducting testing, and documenting results for research, development, and failure analysis activities.\nOperate laboratory test equipment, including vacuum ovens, humidity chambers, hardness testers, viscometers, tensile mills, and related instruments.\nFollow all required safety procedures and use assigned personal protective equipment (PPE).\nHandle and work safely with acids, caustic chemicals, and other laboratory materials.\nQualifications:\nTo be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Chemistry or related field or have completed their bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.\nIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $68,000 - $126,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
