For over 70 years, L3Harris has designed and developed industry-leading carriage and release systems for fighter, rotary-wing and unmanned platforms and we design, manufacture and test a large portion of our release systems portfolio in our Brighton facility which offers 48,500 square feet of manufacturing space. Our mission-critical release systems equipment is on most major airborne fighter platforms worldwide, including the F-35, along with other aircraft like the Gripen and Typhoon.\nPlease note, our Brighton business is moving to a new location in 2027. The new site is expected to be located in either Shoreham, Burgess Hill or Horsham and will be within a 15-minute drive of our current site.\nThe Operations Manager for the Brighton UK business unit is a strategic leader responsible for driving end-to-end operational excellence across manufacturing, supply chain, and program execution. This leader will serve as the Operations Lead responsible for all strategic and daily execution of the operations team, managing the production/facilities environments, training. This role owns critical performance metrics including safety, quality, delivery, and cost, while leading cross-functional teams to achieve operational scalability and program success in a highly resource Planning, Supply Chain, Quality, Safety, Continuous Improvement & Training & NPI. \nDevelop and execute strategies to achieve Operational & business objectives across cost, efficiencies, quality, delivery, and customer satisfaction.\nBuild, develop, and retain a high-performing team through effective talent management, succession planning, and inclusive leadership.\nDrive operational excellence and employee engagement through Lean principles, continuous improvement, quality enhancement, and safety initiatives.\nEnsure Manufacturing, Operations, and Quality are fully engaged objectives.\nMonitor and report on strategic goals and operational performance, implementing action plans to drive continuous improvement.\nLead the deployment of operational strategies, best practices, and performance measures across the organisation.\nManage performance and deliver results within a complex matrix environment.\nWhat you’ll bring\nThe role requires the following experience and skills:\nBachelor’s Degree (preferably Engineering related) and minimum 9 years prior related experience OR Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience \nDeep knowledge of manufacturing, Lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies \nStrong leadership presence with the ability to influence across functions.\nComprehensive knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline and may have broad understanding of other areas within the job function.\nFundamental knowledge in EHS to drive zero injury plans with a proactive approach\nExtensive experience in Production & manufacturing management of complex electro & mechanical assembly, system integration and testing and or related commodities/processes\nWorking knowledge
