New York\nEssential Functions:\nSet up and operate qualified grinding, polishing, and related equipment.\nMake approved process adjustments and escalate conditions outside defined limits.\nTroubleshoot common issues involving vibration, tooling, pads, coolant/slurry, fixtures, and edge damage.\nComplete first-piece and in-process inspections using required measurement equipment.\nMonitor quality trends and stop or hold work when safety or part quality is at risk.\nRecord setup information, inspection results, process changes, and production data accurately.\nSupport engineering trials, process improvements, containment, and root-cause activities.\nSafely handle and move fragile, high-value optical components using approved equipment and methods.\nProvide informal guidance to less-experienced technicians and follow all safety requirements.\nEnsure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.\nOwn area equipment Total Productive Maintenance guidelines for manufacturing equipment and ensure calibration status is current.\nQualifications:\nRequires fully proficient job knowledge/skills. \nRequires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.\nPreferred Additional Skills:\nExperience with multiple types of optical fabrication equipment.\nKnowledge of wheel dressing, pad conditioning, and their effects on part shape and surface quality.\nExperience with specialized fixtures, lifting equipment, or rigging.\nExperience supporting improvements to quality, cycle time, yield, or repeatability.\nExperience in a quality system environment (e.g., documented processes, sign-offs,
