The hardware produced at this location is mission critical and often complex, containing spacecraft bus, mission payloads, complex microelectronic assemblies and higher-level system assemblies including small satellites and top-level space vehicles.\nEssential Functions:\nThis is a hands-on manufacturing position and requires technicians knowledgeable in aerospace assembly and hi-reliability procedures. Supporting activities will include:\nSupport of space vehicle/satellite manufacturing\nLead technician responsibilities with limited supervision \nCreate and execute measurement plans using laser trackers, radars and CMM style equipment and related software\nFollow engineering drawings and defined manufacturing processes. Work with engineering and management to create and update manufacturing processes related to SV manufacturing, test and payload processing\nEnvironments testing of space flight hardware\nMaking adjustments, repairs and updates to support tooling and fixtures used to produce space rated hardware \nLead complex tasks. Lead pre task and safety briefings \nProvide hand-off or schedule status to alternate shift manufacturing teams\nCable and harness installation, routing and cable management, cable mate/demate operations\nMechanical assembly and test of space hardware including ESD sensitive hardware.\nLeading rigging and overhead crane and forklift operations \nPreparation for and conducting system level hardware testing (deployments, vibe, etc.).\nPerforming system level alignments to meet system requirements\nMove equipment weighing 45 pounds or less from one place to another.\nQualifications:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 0-2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 3 years of prior related experience\n1+ year of Metrology experience to create and execute measurement plans using laser trackers, radars, CMM style equipment and related software\nFlexibility to work overtime, weekends and second shift \nMust be able to obtain a US security clearance as a job requirement\nPreferred Additional Skills:\nExperience with space vehicle/satellite assembly and test.\nHi-Reliability, Bonding, cable routing, cable and harness pinout testing, soldering\nFabrication, machining working on and repairing metal parts\nAssembling and aligning parts to tight tolerances\nStrong sense of responsibility, ownership and follow-through\nTeam player, pro-active, and customer-oriented with a sense of urgency to accomplish a given task or goal\nPossess a high level of initiative and willingness to learn\nExceptional organizational, verbal and written communication skills\nExceptional mechanical skills and keen situational awarenessExperience working and leading technician teams through payload processing, launch prep and other field activities related to satellite manufacturing\nExperience performing and leading stow/rig, crane and forklift ops to move space flight hardware\nExperience with MGSE and/or EGSE
