We are seeking a hands on technical professional with experience in precision assembly, test, or fabrication who can follow detailed technical documentation and work with limited supervision.\nCandidates from electronics, mechanical, optical, or related technical fields are encouraged to apply. Experience with engineering drawings, laboratory or manufacturing equipment, and precision tools is highly transferable. Photonics specific experience is a plus but not required-comprehensive on the job training will be provided to develop fiber handling, optical alignment, and specialized testing skills.\nEssential Functions:\nPerform fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, and inspection activities in accordance with detailed work instructions, drawings, and process travelers.\nExecute tasks including optical fiber splicing and recoating, photonic circuit assembly and inspection, mechanical subassembly builds, metal soldering, microscopy, and profilometry.\nIntegrate COTS optical and electrical instrumentation such as laser sources, power meters, and monitoring equipment using wiring diagrams and system block diagrams.\nAssist with equipment calibration and routine equipment checks in alignment with vendor or internal procedures.\nAccurately document work performed, capture test data, and communicate status or issues to engineering and supervision.\nMaintain adherence to high-reliability handling, ESD, cleanliness, and safety protocols.\nOperate and maintain optical device fabrication equipment (e.g., wire bonders, photomasking tools, epoxy systems) following required training.\nApply working knowledge of engineering processes to identify issues in straightforward situations and recommend improvements.\nInterpret and execute technical procedures, drawings, and specifications with minimal oversight.\nQualifications:\nRequires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.\nAbility to work on-site full-time in a classified lab environment.\nActive Top Secret/SCI with Poly clearance\nPreferred Additional Skills:\nDemonstrated ability to follow detailed technical instructions and perform precision hands-on work.\nExperience in an optical laboratory or classified hardware environment.\nFamiliarity with fiber management, optical terminations, or optical alignment.\nBasic understanding of electronics and use of measurement tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies).\nExperience with mechanical assembly, torqueing, bonding, adhesives, or precision alignment work.\nExperience capturing data, documenting work, or using digital workflow systems (MES, JIRA, or similar).\nDemonstrated consistency and attention to detail in repetitive, precision-based tasks.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with engineering, quality, and manufacturing
