The technician will perform a variety of duties in the electronic, and/or electromechanical areas. Assists in the removal, construction, test and check-out of the fielded system. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with communications equipment, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Works from and understands schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.\nEssential Functions:\nRemove, install, configure, and test communications equipment and supporting infrastructure, at various FAA facilities.\nPerform system troubleshooting and repair activities to ensure optimal operation of operational system.\nCollaborate with engineering teams to interpret and implement installation drawings and specifications.\nSupport site surveys to assess installation requirements and plan logistics.\nEnsure compliance with all relevant safety guidelines, protocols, and regulatory standards.\nDocument all installation, repair, and maintenance activities accurately and thoroughly.\nTravel extensively to various FAA facilities as required by project assignments for 3-to-5 month durations as required.\nAbility to lift and carry equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to climb ladders and work at heights.\nAbility to obtain a FAA Public Trust clearance or a U.S. Government Security Clearance\nQualifications:\nRequires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.\nPreferred Additional Skills:\nExperience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical electronics systems.\nProficiency with a variety of tools and equipment involved in communications systems installation.\nProblem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills.\nExperience working on the Voice Switching and Control System.\nExperience working on projects for the FAA or other federal agencies.\nCertification in relevant telecommunications fields (e.g., CompTIA Network+, ETA International).\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office
