You will translate mission and system requirements into simulation architectures, develop and evaluate radar algorithms, and use modeling and analysis to guide design decisions, optimize performance, and reduce technical risk. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, including establishing technical roadmaps, leading design reviews, mentoring engineers, and supporting program execution and proposal development. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, customer-focused capabilities.\nThe Agile Development Group specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.\nEssential Functions:\nLead radar architecture development and technical roadmaps, aligning simulation and algorithm development with mission requirements and program objectives.\nDevelop, integrate, and validate high-fidelity radar models spanning RF front ends, transmit/receive chains, antennas, propagation, target signatures, operational environments, and signal processing.\nDesign and evaluate radar waveforms and processing algorithms, including pulse compression, Doppler processing, beamforming, detection, and tracking.\nProvide technical expertise in electronic protection algorithms, including waveform design, adaptive interference cancellation, and cognitive approaches.\nModel RF impairments and hardware effects, including noise figure, gain and loss, phase noise, nonlinearities, dynamic range, I/Q imbalance, and channel mismatch.\nConduct performance assessments, trade studies, sensitivity analyses, using simulations under realistic operating conditions.\nVerify and validate models and algorithms against analytical predictions, laboratory measurements, and field-test data.\nCollaborate with systems, RF hardware, software, integration, and test teams to transition algorithms from simulation into implementable solutions.\nLead technical reviews and improve engineering processes, modeling methods, simulation tools, and reusable analysis capabilities.\nMentor engineers and provide technical direction across RF signal processing, algorithm development, modeling, and simulation.\nPresent technical findings, risks, and recommendations to engineering leadership, internal and external customers, and program stakeholders.\nSupport proposal development, including technical approaches, cost estimates, schedules, resource needs, and execution plans.\nTravel up to 10%, as required.\nQualifications:\nActive US Secret security clearance.\nBachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior Radar Systems Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior Radar Systems Engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior Radar Systems Engineering experience.\nAt least 7 years of experience modeling radar systems and assessing RF system performance under realistic operating conditions.\n5+ years experience in MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++.\nPreferred Additional Skills:\nAdvanced degree in Engineering related discipline.\nSubject matter expertise in radar and digital signal processing, with experience developing algorithms for radar and other RF sensing applications.\nStrong understanding of radar theory, RF link budgets, receiver sensitivity, antenna characteristics, and electromagnetic propagation.\nExperience with phased-array or active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, digital beamforming, or multichannel receiver architectures.\nExperience in design, coding, and optimization of GPU-accelerated processing algorithms using NVIDIA CUDA.\nExperience supporting radar integration, laboratory testing, and field-test campaigns.\nExperience transitioning radar algorithms into real-time implementations.\nExperience correlating simulation predictions with measured system performance.\nDemonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and execute trade studies and parametric analyses.\nProven technical leadership and program execution skills, including planning engineering work, managing technical risks, and delivering results against cost and schedule objectives \nIn compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Texas is $117,000 - $218,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
