Waterdown, On\nPrimary Responsibilities\nProvide leadership, guidance and mentorship of an engaged, high performing engineering operations team\nEnable data-driven decision making across all of Engineering\nPartner with Engineering senior leadership to translate objectives into roadmaps for engineering infrastructure and tools\nOwn the strategy, roadmap, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of engineering platforms, including key areas such as:AI ToolsInfrastructure and tools to support integration of AI technology into engineering processes that produce improvements to engineering efficiency\n\nDevOpsInfrastructure and tools supporting efficient software and firmware delivery including Atlassian (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) and CI/CD (Jenkins) services\n\nEngineering Applications Infrastructure and tools supporting Configuration Management and other engineering-wide systems, such as Teamcenter\n\nEngineering ReportingInfrastructure and tools to deliver data, analytics and reporting that enables engineering-wide decision making, including the engineering labour database\n\nEstablish good operating practices for the team including but not limited to:Priority management\nProject tracking\nCode/design reviews\nApplication support\n\nBe responsible for project execution of all activities in their team throughout the entire project life cycle\nActively contribute to infrastructure administration and tool development activities within their team where needed\nDevelop positive working relationships across all engineering functions and Information Technology (IT)\nPartner with IT to align technology roadmaps, integrate enterprise platforms, and deliver solutions \nDevelop and maintain productive relationships with technology vendors and service providers\nProvide metrics, reports and performance measures for your team’s results, including regular reporting to the Engineering Management Team.\nPreferred Capabilities\nExperience leading multidisciplinary technical teams spanning DevOps, enterprise applications, and data analytics\nExperience integrating existing teams with newly established functions\nExperience managing strategic vendor relationships and influencing technology investment decisions.\nExperience with project management of complex software application development and roll-out\nBroad experience across software delivery platforms, engineering applications, and data analytics solutions, including but not limited to:AI technologies applied to engineering and/or business processes\nSource control and CI/CD applications such as Bitbucket and Jenkins\nBusiness systems such as Teamcenter Unified, ERP-LN and MES\nBusiness reporting solutions such as PowerBI and Grafana\nDatabase solutions supporting data intelligence \nInternal software-as-a-service application development and support\n\nFamiliarity with industry best practices for software application development include source control management, Agile practices and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) methodologies \nPassion and experience with making Continuous Improvement and DevOps an integral part of an engineering organization\nExperience establishing strong relationships with leaders across the organization to influence priorities, align stakeholders and drive results\nExperience assessing and hiring the best talent for your team\nDesired Education and Experiences\nUniversity degree or College diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related Engineering discipline.\nBachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
