In this capacity, the COMSEC Manager is responsible for the implementation, management and execution of NSA/CSS Policy Manual 3-16 (Control of Communications Security Material) as well as National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) 32 CFR Part 117 and any other applicable government requirements. The Communications Security (COMSEC) Manager is responsible for the receipt, transfer, accountability, safeguarding, accounting, and destruction of COMSEC and cryptographic materials assigned to the organization's account. The COMSEC Manager will be a subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of job area and in-depth knowledge of project management. This position manages project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction.\nEssentials Functions:\nManage and maintain meticulous inventory control programs and records for secure equipment (such as secure telephones and encryption devices) and classified keying materials.\nOversee the secure receipt, control, storage, distribution, and ultimate destruction of COMSEC and cryptographic materials and hardware.\nEnsure required COMSEC safeguards are in place and adhered to.\nTrain personnel and staff on proper COMSEC procedures, secure equipment usage, and handling protocols.\nManage and conduct COMSEC inventories, internal self-inspections, and prepare for external government audits as required.\nManage the establishment and maintenance of COMSEC storage areas.\nIdentify, investigate, manage and report COMSEC incidents, compromises, or violations, and implement corrective measures.\nCommunicate within and outside of the organization to explain and influence practices, processes and approaches. \nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's Degree with 9 years prior experience, Graduate Degree with 7 years prior experience.
