The Stress Analysis Manager reports to the Senior Manager of Flight Sciences Engineering and oversees a team of approximately 8 to 12 engineers responsible for analysis, modeling, and testing to ensure compliance with airworthiness structural requirements, ensuring safety of flight, and meeting program cost and schedule targets. Candidate must be experienced in aircraft stress analysis, and familiar with FAA and Military Airworthiness Requirements.\n\nEssential Functions:\nResponsible for the technical work product of the Stress Analysis Group, as well as work assignments, manpower planning, project and engineering status, project bid support, employee training, mentorship and coaching of team members,\nEstablish annual group and individual goals, preparing and giving out performance reviews, and management of overhead budgets.\nEnsure compliance to company processes relating to structural analysis and reporting. \nSet the highest ethical standards for self and direct reports, commits to Continuous Improvement initiatives, and drives positive change throughout the group.\nPlanning, scheduling, and budgeting tasks for the Stress Analysis Team.\nTechnical oversight of a Stress Analysis Group supporting one of the L3Harris MMG Division business areas.\nAssisting Senior Manager of Flight Sciences Engineering with monthly staffing and manpower planning.\nProviding regular project status updates for supported programs.\nAnnual goal planning and performance evaluations for direct report employees.\nTraining, teaching, mentorship, and coaching of Stress Analysis Group members.\nWillingness and ability to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.\nWillingness and ability to travel up to 7% as required.\nAbility to obtain a US Secret security clearance.\n\nQualifications:\nBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering with 9 years prior aircraft structural analysis experience, Graduate Degree with 7 years prior aircraft structural analysis experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.\n\nPreferred Additional Skills:\nActive US Secret security clearance. \nStrong background in Aircraft Stress Analysis, with a combination of primary airframe and secondary structures.\nMastery of classical aircraft engineering analysis methodology, and finite-element modeling (combination of course-mesh “internal loads models” and fine-mesh “stress models”).\nFamiliarity with NASTRAN Finite-Element solver, and either FEMAP or PATRAN pre/post-processor software.\nExperience working in inter-disciplinary engineering environments, providing support to design engineering, and working alongside other flight sciences engineers (specialized fields such as fatigue and damage tolerance, loads and dynamics, aerodynamics, thermal and fluids analysis, and mass properties).\nDemonstrated experience leading engineering groups (examples: Stress Analysis Lead, Project Lead, or Project Engineering).\nPrior experience as a Stress Analysis Group Manager, or in other Engineering Manager roles.\nDemonstrated experience leading engineering groups (examples: Stress Analysis Lead, Project Lead, or Project Engineering).\nExperience in stress analysis of composite materials.\nExperience in structural testing.\nExperience in adjacent disciplines such as Fatigue and Damage Tolerance, External Loads Development, or Structural Dynamics.\nSkills in analysis automation development, either through use of commonly available software, or programming in languages such as VBA, Python, etc.\nFamiliarity with the use of AI tools in engineering analysis, or for engineering management
