From long-range covert surveillance missions to search and rescue operations, our MX-series systems, and the mission systems solutions they are a part of, produce stabilized high-magnification electro1-optical and infrared images from airborne, marine and ground based platforms, enabling our customers to see first and act first.\nAbout the Role\nThis is a 16 month co-op term to start May 2026. You will get to work alongside senior Mechanical Engineers, solving complex issues, generating detailed drawings in SolidWorks, conducting in-depth analyses, and recommending solutions for the Mechanical Engineering team.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nProvide mechanical design, analysis, and testing support for new and existing products.\nGeneration of drawings and bills of materials.\nCompleting assignments of moderate scope and complexity, usually derived parts of larger projects.\nUses a variety of standard engineering methods and defined best practices in solving problems and executing tasks.\nAssist senior staff in carrying out technical tasks.\nMay contribute to definition of departmental best practices of a clearly defined scope.\nParticipate in design reviews as either a presenter or a reviewer.\nSupporting the verification and validation of new product designs.\nImplement changes to documentation, technical drawings, parts and assemblies.\nKeep in synchronization with mechanical industry trends and new technologies that may be relevant to L3 Wescam’s present and future product development.\nMay involve the design of cabling wire harnesses including developing solutions with electrical engineers, physical routing definition, final drawing generation, and then verification of design in production.\nRequired Capabilities\nSome experience with a solid modeling CAD package, SolidWorks preferred.\nA highly motivated, self-starter.\nMechanical aptitude, good hands-on skills.\nSome mechanical design skills shown through practical course work or experience.\nGood mathematical and analysis skills.\nStrong communication skills.\nProficient in use of Microsoft Office products.\nDesired Education and Experiences\nEnrollment in a Bachelors or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering program\nMust be able to complete a 16 month Co-Op term starting May 2026\nCurrently enrolled and in good standing with co-op program through accredited university\nAble to obtain Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) clearance\nDiversity & Inclusion\nWe believe that diversity among our employees makes us a stronger organization.\nWe are committed to diversity and inclusion within our L3Harris WESCAM family, and our community by welcoming and encouraging applications from anyone interested without regard to race, colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, protected veteran's status, Aboriginal status or any other legally-protected groups.
