For over 70 years, L3Harris has designed and developed industry-leading carriage and release systems for fighter, rotary-wing and unmanned platforms and we design, manufacture and test a large portion of our release systems portfolio in our Brighton facility which offers 48,500 square feet of manufacturing space. Our mission-critical release systems equipment is on most major airborne fighter platforms worldwide, including the F-35, along with other aircraft like the Gripen and Typhoon.\nPlease note, our Brighton business is moving to a new location in 2027. The new site is expected to be located in either Shoreham, Burgess Hill or Horsham and will be within a 15-minute drive of our current site.\nWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating multifunctional teams from engineering and operations disciplines to ensure successful execution of projects and production orders.\nYou will oversee the full programme lifecycle, from proposal preparation and submission through to project completion, while ensuring on-time, on-budget, and quality-driven delivery.\nThis role will be pivotal in driving the success of customer orders, internal R&D projects, and complex Design & Development initiatives related to mission-critical Defence and Aerospace products. Ensure all project activities are completed on time, cost, and quality targets.\nCross-Department Coordination: Work across departments to ensure smooth execution of tasks. Coordinate and engage with customers as needed, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.\nRisk Management: Conduct regular project risk reviews, identify potential issues, and develop and deploy mitigation strategies.\nStakeholder Communication: Provide regular project status reports to division-level management and assist senior management with programme and business performance.\nTeam Leadership: Motivate and manage project team members, ensuring continuous development and providing direction on programmatic issues.\nBid & Proposal Management: Manage the end-to-end process of bids and proposals, from submission to customer engagement.\nContinuous Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of formal processes and procedures, focusing on enhancing the overall efficiency of the Project Management Team.\nWhat you’ll bring\nThe role requires the following experience and skills:\nExperience: 4+ years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of managing complex projects, particularly in highly regulated industries (e.g. Defence, Aerospace). Experience in a manufacturing environment, delivering production contracts is desirable.\nQualifications: Formal project management qualifications such as APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ), PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, or equivalent project/programme management experience.\nImportant to know\nDue to the nature of our work many our roles require a UK nationality and the ability to obtain a security clearance.
