Researches and implements federal security regulations, maintaining knowledge and awareness of interdisciplinary compliance requirements (finance, cyber, information technology, and trade compliance). Obtains rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations from government agencies. Prepares manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling, storing, retaining records, and access by personnel or visitors to restricted records and materials. Conducts security education training and security audits. Investigates security violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken. Collects, assimilates, and interprets intelligence information and disseminates to the appropriate stakeholder or investigating authority.\nEssential Functions: \nMaintain the administration of the Controlled Goods Program and Contract Security Program for L3Harris MAPPS.\nWork with and assist Lead, Industrial Security\nProvide oversight and guidance of the L3Harris MAPPS Controlled Goods Program, acting in the capacity as a Designated Official.\nAct as Alternate Company Security Officer (ACSO) for L3Harris MAPPS.\nLiaison with PSPC Industrial Security to provide requested documents / information.\nProcess Controlled Goods security assessments for L3Harris MAPPS employees, including security assessments, reference checks, and maintain record keeping.\nFacilitate and provide guidance to L3Harris MAPPS on assessments for vendors and contractors for Controlled Goods status.\nCoordinate and facilitate with L3 Harris MAPPS HR Managers on Temporary Worker applications, through Controlled Goods Program as well as background checks on international hires.\nPrepare reports and information updates for Industrial Security and Controlled Goods Programs as required by management or government.\nMonitor and track the weekly operations and deliverables of the L3Harris MAPPS Industrial Security Department.\nSupport Security Department FY objectives and strategic goals\nMaintain department statistics and presentations\nDevelop and provide training on the Controlled Goods Program and the Contract Security Program\nMaintain/update registration with the Controlled goods program and Contract Security Program\nPrepare reports and information updates for the Controlled Goods Program and Contract Security Program\nSupporting contractual compliance requirements\nQualifications: \n2-5+ years in Security with relevant exposure to Controlled Goods, Export Control and Industrial Security\nCollege / University Degree in a relevant field.\nExperience dealing with all levels of employee and management in a medium-to-large organization.\nProven track record of being a self-starter.\nDealing with external agencies of L3Harris MAPPS; Government, Provincial, and military.\nPreferred Additional Skills:\nBilingual (English and French)\nComputer literate in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.\nA very effective communicator, in speaking with Government, Provincial, and Military/Security officials in the capacity of Controlled Goods, Industrial Security Procedures, and Visit Clearances coordinator.\nSound communication skills in speaking with all levels of employees and management.\nEffective trainer, in the delivery of Security Training/Briefing sessions.\nExcellent administration and organizational skills.\nProficient in being well organized in day-to-day activities.\nQuick learner of Controlled Goods and Industrial Security policies and procedures.\nAbility to travel to Ottawa once or twice per month\nEligibility Criteria:\nMust be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;\nMust be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;\nL3Harris is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and is committed to treating all of its employees and job applicants with respect and dignity and to maintaining a workplace free from discrimination.
